QUOTE (Astafjevs @ Dec 6 2008, 04:25 PM) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Fernandes is nothing like Seedorf. how wud u describe him? Don't get me wrong. There's NO WAY i put them in the same class. Zee is a legend and Fernandes a relative nothing..but from what i've seen of fernandes, i think he plays the similar skillful but physical box-to-box type of game that Seedorf plays with a little less polish in attack and more physicality in defense.. anyways, nevermind.. QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Dec 7 2008, 04:17 AM) True...
I was thinking of Veloso playing deep, and Moutinho taking over from Zee. As the all round creative player. That's more or less how they play. However, at Euro 2008 in the summer, Moutinho was used as a deep player, just like Veloso, instead of his usual attacking midfielder role. Either way, Veloso would be the better option. Then we can recall Gourcuff. That would be the midfield sorted, though in a few years time we'd have to buy another attacking midfielder when Seedorf leaves/retires.

You have a point Asta. But I fear Yoann is going the Gila route. A player who plays best when the team revolves around him in mid-field. It might not happen in Milan. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/96.gif) +1 cookie to cmf for his discretion. Thing is, who could we realistically get in January that'll do us any good? Sure, we could get a defender, but we need a GOOD defender.

QUOTE Ancelotti is now coach of Milan, and Thuram explained that at a friendly between Juventus and Milan he had entered the dressing room. “I wanted to say hello to my friend Gianluca Zambrotta.
“When I went into the dressing room everyone welcomed me warmly. Ancelotti, who I know from a while ago at Parma, immediately suggested that I sign for Milan,” revealed the defender.
Thuram added, “I asked him if he was joking, as I had just said goodbye to football, but he was serious and gave me until August 31 to decide. I even visited Milan's training ground. His efforts touched me a lot, but if I was going to continue, my choice would have been Paris St Germain.” (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ancelotti has reached a new low in my books. you call this rebuilding? the guy had to retire because of a heart coniditon, imagine we have reached the point of trying to sign people although unknowingly) with heart problems (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Wouldn't make jokes about such conditions. I respect Thuram. Carletto up till now never even tried to drag one of his Parma boys (only Crespo). And Thuram was extra class. Of course, it's a short term solution, but a very good one. I don't consider it a low. Especially if you read carefully and understand that at the time Carletto suggested him to come to Milan the heart condition wasn't discovered yet.

Barca made them all look terrible. Zambro, Thuram...they have a big tendency twoards destroying good/great Serie A CB's and defenders in general. They did it to our guys - Francesco Coco and Michael Reizinger.
