QUOTE (Portikins @ Aug 3 2008, 04:08 PM) (IMG: http://images.gazzetta.it/Hermes%20Foto/2008/08/03/0K50VALP--346x212.jpg) This is why I think Maldini should have retired long time ago. He does not deserve this kind of humiliations. And if we're going to keep renewing with him I beg to NOT PUT HIM AGAINST TOP TEAMS ANYMORE. Enough is enough. Oh no, he actually played? Still, it could be worse, and at least it's not his testimonial or anything.

Glad I didn't see this game, sounded terrible. The starting lineup was fairly embarassing though.
I'm sure we have scouts watching our upcoming opponents and what lineup is likely to play against us, what those players are like, etc. So everytime we come up against players with pace, Maldini should NOT play.
The results don't mean a thing in friendlies, but from what it sounds like, we were truly terrible.

Well, the comfort I get is that it's a friendly ... And the players are out to get their legs stretched and gain match fitness. About Maldini, he is 40. And after such a career, I don't think it is right for us to criticize, since he is the one who has to choose if he wants to go on or retire. Yet, he deserves better than this and I hope that he wins this season and closes on a high (where he deserves).

Wow... I just saw the result and I'm shocked... and embarrassed! we seriously need defenders. what if Nesta injured himself in the middle of the season? while market's still open we should do something instead of talking about 'emergency situations' and 'Ambrisini as a CB'. that emergency's for when you can't go for anyone i.e. the market is closed, stupid Galliani (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I know the season has not started yet but this friendlies are supposed to show our weak points. they're not for NOTHING. I'm disappointed... QUOTE (Portikins @ Aug 3 2008, 05:31 PM) Now... who didn't expect this kind of result?
I mean, we're talking about a strong team, a team that wants to conquer Europe and England. Madrid, Chelsea, Inter... you know those kind of teams are miles ahead of us nowadays.
We're more worried about "class", "MilanTour" and the sponsorship with Audi. A posto così.
And the excuse of absent/injuried players... so did Chelsea. Poor squad, that's the fact.
Now let Abramovich, Moratti and co. laugh at us once again. It's becoming usual. Great season ahead. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Classic Porty post.

I'm sure Galliani has seen this and probably also knows whats wrong but I'm sure nothing will happen in the market, Milan will stay as they are. Defensively I have never seen us put out such a horrible performance, everyone was all over the place. Kaladze was just horrible to watch, Digao was even better then him!!!!!
Yes Nesta is great but him coming back will make little difference especially when everyone around him is complete cr@p.
As for Carlo's tactics and formation, every choic he made was a bad one, Ambro as a striker with Zambrotta as some wierd sort of make shist winger/forward??? Thge minute you saw the team sheet you knew we were going to get hammered. And Kalac should be released from the team, it's not even worth it to keep him
I can't wait to hear the excuses for this one, and I know it's a pre-season friendly but there is still no excuse for the waywe played and the way we lost, no dignity what-so-ever
