I just dont like that kind of players who plays for one of the best teams in the world and really has no technique whatsoever. Then tries to cover it up with blaming the rest.
Pippo is the same you might say , he is actually. But the guy has instinct and saved our @sses a lot of times before. Plus he doesnt mind sitting on the bench.
Thats why Im so glad we bought Ronaldinho. He is a player who can make a difference on his own. And I believe we should have a player like that on each position , one who can make a difference. Defence , midfield & striker wise. If a player cant , he's useless. So was Gilardino.
For me every player playing for a top team should master the basic football skills.
I don't think he ever blamed anyone for his inability to score goals, he's never pointed fingers at anyone and he never complained about being benched for a huge portion of last season. And yes he's not a Maradona on the ball but he's not really what you're making him out to be, I was watching all the goals scored from the 05/06 season when he played next to Sheva and he clearly showed that he had tachnique. And especially good awareness of his team mate's movements.
I think after that season maybe he lost a lot of confidenece when the goals weren't coming (when the whole team really was struggling to perform) and he never recovered.
Yes he was a dissappointment especiacially in the finsl 2 seasons and he was not what we expected to be.
Ronaldinho is a player that you simply cannot compare to the Italian-in-box striker, and that's what Gila was, Ronaldinho is on a totally diferent level so it's unfair to compare the 2 together.
As for people who make the difference on the team, right now we don't have that, we have Kaladze in defence who more often then not creates the problems rather then making a difference, Dida who is another liabilty to the team, which should be the case for all the GKs really since they are all known for making terrible blunders. And Seedorf who only decides to play when he feels like it, but makes a big scene is he's subbed out of a game.
So as you can see it's not a vintage Milan that we have right now. I admit that Gila disappointed and imo could have done much better at Milan, I just don't agree with the fact that he was continuosly used as a scapegote for Milan's shortcomings when in reality there are many different reasons why this happened
