^^I think Senderos is a very good defender but he usually does a big mistake. If he manages to put this right he will be a great player. I remember Toure was no better than him at his age and was a joke at some times. But he's an awesome defender now... I think he won't have any problems against Carew. QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Feb 29 2008, 06:39 PM) Wengers basically saying football should be a none-contact sport. With all the complaining he's been doing recently, I see Reo-Coker getting a red card tomorrow. Considering some excessive comments he has made in the past I don't think it's very unlikely. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But I agree with him to some extent; In most games, I see tackles that are clearly on the player and with no intention of going for the ball. These tackles deserve a booking in my opinion especially when it's more than clear that the tackle is made intentionally to cause frustration and hurt the players. Maybe the refs cannot see it but on the TV I believe we've all seen "smart" tackles that can even cause a player to lose control of the match. Being a defender I know that there are many ways you can hurt someone and make it look like an innocent foul not worthy of a yellow. And before you b*tches make any comments I have to say I follow Maldini's step being a clean defender and don't use suck tricks! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Kurt, I think Villa have scored in all their games except for one, right? Nice... QUOTE (Locke Lamora @ Feb 29 2008, 09:23 PM) Yup, Eboue is out, so we'll probably use Walcott on the flank, and play a 4-5-1 with Adebayor as lone striker. I hope Walcott has a good game like against Birmingham. But this time I wish Arsenal win. It was a big disappointment to see them draw last week even more because the victory was in their hands. I'd like to think that Arsenal won't be affected but these mistakes usually decide the winners... I'm really mad at Adebayor who could have simply passed to Bendtner for an easy 1-3 (I hope everything's alright between them now. Locke?) but instead chose to go for it while we all know he's no Henry... he's not a great tete-a-tete finisher in no way and he should learn from this mistake of his. He put his own record above the team! Had he done that, Clichy's utterly stupid kaladzity combo would not even matter. Not that it's excusable in any sense...

QUOTE (dst @ Feb 29 2008, 11:42 PM) Kurt, I think Villa have scored in all their games except for one, right? Nice... Two. Man City and Newcastle, both away. But we've scored in our last 22 straight. But we also haven't kept a clean sheet for 13 games! Stats can be a little deceiving though, even though we can't keep clean sheets, we have the players with the most tackles in the league (Reo-Coker) and the player with the most clearances in the league (Martin Laursen), so we're obviously doing something right defensively! Don't worry, Locke. Carew's the same, he's not allowed to win the ball in the air otherwise it's a free-kick. Refs seem to think their height is some sort of unfair advantage. And they usually only fail to win the ball when somebody's climbing al over them, but the ref still won't give a foul (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hmm, this could also mean that you are not doing something right defensively. I imagine it could mean that you are under too much pressure and/or you cannot clear the ball away and your defenders have to interven a lot. In any case, stats are not so important in my view.
