About Gila's goal, let's not freak out. that goal had nothing to do with the fact that we were playing with two strikers! Gila only played 10 minutes, we cannot conclude that he scored because of the system. in my opinion it was more a result of motivation than anything else.

Anyway I'm so happy for him.

This is for all those who though the Ka-Pa-Ro would make every game look like a walk in the park! It was "just one game" after all so next time make sure you don't get carried away!

Here are my ratings:
Kalac: 8 Kept us in the game! Excellent saves!
Bonera 6 A rock in defense but he is a only defender, NOT a RB!
Nesta 6 Great positioning once again but was a bit soft.
Kaladze 4 He is lucky his terrible man-marking did not lead to an Udinese goal!
Favalli 5 Was good at the back.
Gattuso 6 Reminded of the good ol' Gatto at times but he needs to step up more!
Ambrosini 6 All he can do is run (and score crucial headers!). Today he run a lot without running into stupid tackles.
Seedorf 4 Oh he was there? Did not see him
Kaka 5 Just as bad as Seedorf except for the marvelous assist to Gila
Ronaldo 6,5 He was good. He's still far from 100% though
Pato 5 Did nothing except for the last minute pass to Kaka for the goal.
Gila 8 Match-winning finish!!
Emerson 10! He saved us some time! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I missed the match!

Just lost tennis and thought that only Milan winning could make my day better - and Gila did! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I really don't like Gila being unpredictable lol. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

FORZA GILA!!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
FORZA MILAN!!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

I partly agree. He did not score because of the system even if it all all started with Pato...) but there's no doubt he can shine with an SS next to him! And yes, he really wanted to score that goal!

I'm happy for him too! But let's not get carried away again. Just let him play his game and the goals will come...

Even though we missed Pirlo a lot otday, we still would have struggled to break Udine down even with him on the field.

They were practically playing with 10 men behind the ball and Di Natale just outside waiting hopefully for a claerance to come to him so he could break on the counter.

Something I forgot to mention: It was great to see Ronaldo run all the way to where our players were celebrating!

And the Gattuso-Ancelotti hug was nice too!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You think the trio's terrible performance is justified just because of that? If that's the case then it's a trio of Pirlo b!tches and they should not be credited for winning us the game against Napoli...

And finally someone at Milan get us a worthy back-up!! The gap in quality between Pirlo and Ambrosini is immense!!!

Udinese - Milan Player Ratings
Carlo Ancelotti's inspired substitution won the game for the Rossoneri. They showed all their class at the Friuli and everyone fought to the death for the deserved three points.

zoom - galleria

Udinese:

Handanovic- 5.5: Was not really busy and he was lucky most of Milan’s finishing was poor.

Zapata-6.0: Did well against Pato and was interrupting the many Rossoneri attacks.

Coda- 6.5: Showed excellent positional sense to intercept Kaka’s razor sharp passing.

Lukovic-5.5: At times guilty of ball watching and allowing Ronaldo freedom to shoot

Mesto- 6.5: Did well to break up the play in and around the packed out midfield.

D’agostino-6.0: Would want to forget about his wasteful and wayward crosses. Not his best game.

Eremenko-5.5: Came off just after half time after an abysmal first half showing.

Dossena- 7.0: Made some brilliant runs down the wing and his final ball was always perfect.

Pepe- 7.5: Worked hard throughout the 90 minutes but was guilty of being selfish at times when he ought to have passed.

Quagliarella- 7.5: Caused Milan’s defence problems all afternoon. He should have scored from six yards and was guilty of some poor finishing. However he had a good game.

Di Natale-7.0: His pace had Milan in sixes and sevens. Always alert and looking for the clinical pass. He should have done better in front of goal.

Subs: Obodo-5.5

Milan:

Kalac-7.0: His brilliant saves stopped Udinese from scoring. A good performance for the second choice goalkeeper.

Bonera-6.0: coped well with Di Natale however at times he was guilty of losing his man which did not help his side.

Nesta-7.0: A confident display by the former Azzurri stopper. Always there to smother the danger caused by crosses from the wings.

Kaladze-7.5: A rock at the back. Always comfortable both on and off the ball. Made a wonderful challenge to stop Di Natale scoring in the first half.

Favalli-6.0: A quiet but efficient performance from the veteran defender

Gattuso-7.5: At his brilliant best. Always interrupting the midfield flow and had Udinese’s Pepe shackled.

Ambrosini-7.0: At times selfish of taking hopeful shots towards goal. Missed a great chance to give his side the lead early on.

Seedorf-7.0: Unlucky not to score a free kick in injury time. His effort jsu went wide. Showed his range of passing throughout the game.

Kaka- 8.0: Another world class performance by the genius. Typical Kaka who delighted even the home fans with his magical play. His clever back-heel unlocked the Bianconeri defence and allowed Gilardino to score.

Pato- 7.5: A hot prospect for the future. Showed all his talent and potential and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Wide awake to set up the winner.

Ronaldo-7.0: Still not back to full fitness but showed his class with a brilliant shot which was desperately unlucky not to go in.

Subs: Gilardino 7.5, Emerson 5.5

Goal.com has to be on some kinda drugs.
Kala a 7,5? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) And Pato was really nothing special IMO....7,5 is way too good here too. Same for Ricky.

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) No no no... but we cannot deny Pirlo's influence on Milan's game. this is A TEAM, what's that "Pirlo's b1tches" supposed to mean? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) that's what Pirlo does, setting up the goals, I don't see anything weird in it. we lacked his creativeness today, that's all I know. I'm quite sure they did not even watch the game... Pato unlucky not to score?? He did not have a single chance! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

The description of the game is ridiculous

That's all our class?? Oh God... The whole team was mediocre today except for Kalac, Gattuso and Gila. I don't think we would be unhappy with one point from this game and besides the stoppage time brilliance by Pato, Kaka and Gila we never really showed our class.

Of course we lacked his creativeness. He is an extraordinary player but if the gap between the two displays by the trio is justified only with the absence of Pirlo then they are unfairly praised so much in my view...

You're too cricical mate.

Gattuso was our best player today
Seedorf deserved more than a 4 (probably 6)

BTW, also Emerson deserved more than 10 (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Maybe... but the the team played badly.

Maybe he was.
Seedorf never justified his presence in the game.

Hee hee...where's han and kurt...we need to throw some kinda party. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

dst you can come in too. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Well it was obvious we were gonna miss Pirlo. I said it in the beginning of our thread. The idea that we don't need cover in our mid-field and that it's complete is only on the basis, that Pirlo is present most of the time.

Pana, I think the fact is the magic Brazillian trio of ours are basically goal scorers. Kaka is creative, but he does not have Pirlo's range of passing from deep.

Not to forget we don't have the Deschamps, Nicky Butt kind of 'water-carrier' (in the words of the great Cantona) players in our team. Carlo keeps putting Ambro in, hoping he can pull of all those versatile roles, but obviously he's not upto it.

Clarence and Kaka are creative in the last third of the field. But from anywhere behind we need Pirlo. Because Clarence and esp Kaka are not too good with packed defences. In a crowd I think the only players in our squad that we have are - Pirlo, R99, Pippo and to a lesser extent Gila (if for nothing else, coz for about a season and a half, he's been given hands on training on how to get mugged by Serie A defences).

Pirlo is a very important part of the side....and absolutely crucial, if the oppponents are playing with a packed defence.
