R7, try to catch a Leverkusen game when the Bundesliga resumes. I really do think that Adler shows world class potential. But yeah, there may be an element to fantacalcio about our collective desire for a very young keeper.

QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Jan 11 2008, 12:42 PM) Cech...no, he's inviolate. We're dealing with Abramovich anyway. And we can't offer Cech anything, that Chelsea can't. Except the Serie A title. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I think it's about time, we went about developing our own Casillas. I don't mean he has to come from the youth ranks (though 10ie looks set to call dibs upon Offredi), but we need someone young soon, I don't care what nationality. As long as he can last 10 years. Until then get someone steady. If Dida gets his confidence back (which I suspect he will, if only he'd have a strong defence, which I suspect he will if only we had a confident attack), we should probably stick to it. Milan has never been that strong on the goalkeeper front. And I can't see us producing one now when our primavera isn't producing any type of players like it had in the past But from the top 3 keepers in the world who are Cech, Gigi and Casillas, Cech is the only one I can see us getting by a long shot if we push hard enough. He's the only one who is not playign for a truely big club and Chelsea with all their money have still been eluded by one trophy time and time again, a trophy that seems on the other hand to love Milan. The CL. I think thats temptation enough, add to that the $$$$ signs and I think we could get him

It's just up to whether Abra would let him go or not. If Sheva still loves Milan (in English now of course) the he could help with that... he could give head to his master then we'd be pretty close! Otherwise...

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Jan 11 2008, 01:58 PM) @LaPalma .. I think we'd be in Lala Land if we dazed upon the idea that Milan will sign someone young for the Gkeeper slot (unless he's exceptional) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) He would have to be world class or at least show the potential to, at least. Talkin about Adler or Amelia .. mm as Tennie would say, fanatacalcio to an extent. It's fantasy really. I like Lala Land... Adler is really a special GK though (the chances that Milan might sign him are almost zero though...)

With all respect, but Chech get's a bit too much injuried for the last 2 seasons. And I don't see such a thing happen. But we can offer Chech something Chelsea did not - it's a CL title for GS...
Buffon on the other side,..well..it's not all over yet. He's still "young", and although he decided to stay with Juve in Serie B, he might soon realize that he's probably the best keeper of the decade and the only major trophy he hasn't won yet is the CL. That's were Milan steps right in. And if, if we can bring back some of the old Juve players (I'm not just talking about Zambro, IMO Cannavaro and Thuram could be ours as well), he'll feel right at home.
Anyway, there are some young keepers - Adler - like Tennie said, who have emense potential. Also Neuer and some others as well. But I can't see us signing a young keeper as well, especially not a foreign. Maybe, a South American one (please no!!),...So, there is not much hope to see us sign Akinfeev, Neuer, Rensing, etc.
But Italy has some keepers I do rate high, or at least have a good opinion, like: Frey from Fiorentina, Amelia and De Lucia from Livorno, Curci from Roma, Castellazzi from Sampdoria and Sereni from Torino. Does keepers I rate, but only Frey and Curci have class to make it as Milan No.1
From the other Euro-leagues I would consider: Robert Enke (Hannover) and Roman Weidenfeller (BVB) from Germany and Mikaël Landreau (PSG) from France

Milan Eye Up Three Replacements For Dida - Report Zeljko Kalac will stay at Milan next season, but Nelson Dida’s future is in doubt after Diego Alves, Diego Lopez and Hugo Lloris were all linked with a summer move to the club. The Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Kalac’s outstanding recent performances have all but booked his place in the Rossoneri’s squad for 2008/09.
The giant Australian has now replaced Dida as the club’s number one and was again in brilliant form in Sunday’s 1-0 win at Fiorentina, making a wonder save in injury time to deny Alessandro Gamberini’s close-range header.
Dida’s future at the club is less secure after a nightmare campaign in which he has been guilty of a catalogue of blunders.
Milan are said to be closely monitoring Almeria goalkeeper Diego Alves. The Brazilian has been in simply stunning form of late, keeping four clean sheets on the trot during his side’s consecutive wins against Espanyol, Deportivo, Valencia and Real Madrid.
The Rossoneri are also eyeing up Villarreal’s Diego Lopez. The 26-year-old only signed for the Yellow-Submarines from Real Madrid last summer, but he is admired by the Milan technical staff.
The last name linked as a possible replacement for Dida is Nice’s Hugo Lloris. The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Milan in the Italian press quite consistently over the past week or so. Keepers from Almeria, Villareal and Nice? Somehow not the Milan way. I doubt this would happen.

QUOTE Milan Want Lazio-Bound Carrizo - Report AC Milan would like to sign River Plate’s Lazio-bound goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
The 23-year-old was due to sign for Lazio from the Argentine giants last summer, however the move stalled after issues arose concerning the player’s Italian citizenship.
Carrizo claimed to have an Italian great grandfather, which would have allowed him to be registered as a non-EU player.
This was rejected, but attempts were again made for Carrizo to officially complete his move in January, and the player even announced that he would be a Lazio player by the end of the transfer window.
All the paperwork could not be sorted out, meaning that Carrizo will have to wait until this summer before eventually settling down in the Eternal City.
However, according to the Corriere, Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has contacted Lazio about the possibility of the Rossoneri taking Carrizo instead. Milan are looking for a new number one, as Nelson Dida is set to leave, while doubts still remain over the reliability of Zeljko Kalac.
It remains highly unlikely that Lazio President Claudio Lotito would contemplate selling Carrizo to Milan given the transfer saga involving the player since last summer. here we go, million links.
