QUOTE (rhy_A4 @ Dec 28 2007, 01:38 PM) if there is any Goalkeeper we are gunna sign hes not going to be young Exactly,.. Frey, Sereni, Abbiati (hope not), Cudicini,... If we're gonna sign a young one, I'd prefer Curci from Roma. Milan needs an italian keeper,..

QUOTE 28/12/2007 13:42
Milan To Make Boruc Move? Reports in Italy suggest that AC Milan could be set to make a move for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc. The Rossoneri goalkeeping position is a matter of huge debate following yet another high-profile blunder from Nelson Dida. The Brazilian, who has made a catalogue of mistakes this season, somehow allowed a harmless shot from Esteban Cambiasso to go through him during Sunday’s derby, thus succumbing Milan to a 2-1 defeat.
Milan have repeatedly supported the under-fire Dida with Coach Carlo Ancelotti saying yesterday:
“We have complete faith in Nelson. I'm grateful for what he has done in the past, and I have shown that by continuing to play him.â€
However it is widely believed that Dida has now made one mistake too many, and Milan are now actively looking for a replacement.
The number one choice is Celtic’s Artur Boruc. The Polish goalkeeper turns 28 in February and has been in stunning form for the Hoops over the past couple of seasons.
He has particularly impressed in the numerous Champions League meetings between Milan and Celtic during this time, and the Rossoneri are likely to launch a bid either in January or in the summer.
Boruc has been given a glowing recommendation by Celtic’s former Milan midfielder Massimo Donati who described the ‘keeper as a “phenomenonâ€.
Donati signed for Celtic in the summer, and some believe that this was a deliberate ploy by Milan to simplify any future move for Boruc. IMO this is pure journalistic fiction,... QUOTE 28/12/2007 10:03
Milan: Doni Overtakes Frey In Preference
Milan are searching for a possible replacement of the disastrous Nelson Dida, and latest reports coming from Italy suggest that the world champions are set to pounce on Roma's Doni. The Rossoneri could have another Brazilian goalkeeper in goal from next season, according to Italian daily sports newspaper 'Tuttosport', as the Giallorossi's Doni could be on his way to Milan.
According to the reports, Adriano Galliani would prefer Sebastien Frey in goal, but president Silvio Berlusconi is pushing his own candidate, Doni, and has overtaken Fiorentina's goalkeeper.
In a bid to defend themselves from Milan's attack, Roma set to renew the contract of Doni, even though it will be difficult for them to equal or overtake what the Rossoneri can actually offer.
Apart from Milan, other European teams are interested in Doni, and the Giallorossi might have to accept the idea that their Brazilian goalkeeper is set to leave this summer. Dida is much better then Doni. We don't need Roma's Nr.2

^^^^ Dude why would he come?? Juve are getting CL next year!! Anything we can pay Juve will match (for Buffon)! and most importantly he has been virtually given the opportunity to be the next Dino Zoff. If we want Buffon, you better hope, he has a major bust up with the management and the coach. Actually, the coach won't help. just like we fired Sacchi to keep MvB, they'll fire Ranieri to keep Gigi. We had one chance to get Buffon...didn't happen. Live with it! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Buffon can still come. In any case, we need a great keeper while Doni and Boruc should only play for Milan if they payed for it!!!

Boruc, earlier this season, had a couple of absolute howler games where he was directly responsible for multiple goals being conceded. So...he's good but he's liable to occasional bad lapses.
My money is still on one of the Germans (Neuer or Adler), Frey or Akinfeev. Buffon remains an obvious fantasy pick.
As for Ochoa, I've seen him play a couple of times and he really was rather impressive. Might not be an utter disaster.

QUOTE (Tennie @ Dec 28 2007, 03:56 PM) Boruc, earlier this season, had a couple of absolute howler games where he was directly responsible for multiple goals being conceded. So...he's good but he's liable to occasional bad lapses. Making mistakes is not a trait he really holds in my opinion. He did have a very bad one earlier in the season, but it's most uncharacteristic. Just look at Cech vs Arsenal and Villa in the last few games, he's made some hurrendous mistakes, but he's still a World Class keeper because it's not something that happens all the time. I personally think Milan will sign a 'known' keeper, somebody fairly high profiled. I don't think it will be Buffon, I wouldn't even like to guess who it would be, I have no idea. As long as he's not South American, we should be okay.
