OMG that was a matter of millimetres! VAR can GTFO!!!
han2503
Ridiculous to take that away FFS

They are using VAR for the wrong reasons
han2503
First that Samu goal and now this
X-Offender
If we don't win this because of that "offside" I'm going to be severely pissed off.
Danny

That's got to be the fastest goal I've ever seen. 7 seconds FFS!!!

Fastest goal in Serie A history.

They are ruining football.
han2503
GOALLLL
X-Offender
YES!!!

FFS now I don't know if to celebrate after every goal before the play starts again.
han2503
What a game we're playing

Perfect from Pioli considering all the absences

YES!!!

I celebrated because it was pretty much impossible to be incorrect since Theo made the run from our half biggrin.gif
han2503
Btw, Leao should never be played on the wing unless it is an emergency. The kid is a striker and that's where he should play
han2503
f@ck this ref man
han2503
Great first half
X-Offender
Comfortable lead. Was not expecting it in all honesty.

I do feel we're a bit too exposed on that right side sometimes. But other than that, we're having a good game thus far. Let's hope we don't f*ck it up.

We'll have to dig very deep to win the game today. I'm hoping/feeling we'll have a good match.

Excellent half and preparation from Pioli.

Saelmakers and Hernandez are so important for this team! In terms, of physicality and just pure menality!

We should be up 3-0, but oh well...We need to tighten up that midfield, I didn't like how easily Sassuolo players were passing at the end of that half.

I agree about Leao, should be always played as a striker. I still think he has a lot to improve on. The dude sometimes just jogs around.

That run was excellent

Just as everyone was writing off this team, we are showing that the spirit of this team is truly something else this year
han2503
If things are going well by the 65th minute, take off Diaz, bring on Krunic to add the bodies in midfield, and I'd put in Hauge for Hakan so he can rest a bit for the Lazio game
han2503

Just as everyone was writing off this team, we are showing that the spirit of this team is truly something else this year

The fact that we didn't lose those 2 shitshows against Parma and Genoa shows the spirit of this team.

We were horribly unlucky against Parma and got caught wrong footed against Genoa. Today Pioli has approached this game perfectly.

Against Parma and Genoa both team set out to have 11 players behind the ball and we find that difficult to break down, especially when missing players like Ibra and Theo. They both caught us out with the same counter attacks which were made even more possible due to the weakness in out CB area

X-Offender
Oh FFS why is Krunic coming on?!
han2503
Kalulu has been really good so far though, I was unfairly critical against Bologna because he let Destro get the better of him too many times to count. But today he's been much more solid and assured

You know for who?

I'd take off Diaz and bring him on tbh

I think it's a smart move

Diaz is too lightweight and we've got the goals now anyway

Tonali. Great, more injuries.
han2503
Caputo coming on for Sass. Worried about him against Kalulu
han2503
Hmm, he's coming on for Tonali... Strange

F@ck

Can't catch a break
han2503
A DM is so important to get this January

Krunic in the double pivot is so worrying
X-Offender
Why is Diaz so f*ck egoistic! The through ball for Leao was so obvious.
han2503
Diaz! Pass FFS!
han2503
Nooo

Kessie yellow
han2503
Misses the Lazio game
X-Offender
Ridiculous yellow.
Danny
I see Berardi is at it again...
han2503
An unnecessarily shaky end to an overall good game.

Hauge can't turn away from the ball when he's in the wall. Could have cost us

We need to be more clinical on the counters as well, should have scored at least 1 more
han2503

Hate that f@cker
han2503
Do we have any mids for the Lazio game by any chance?
X-Offender
This team will give me heart attack problems.

Nevertheless, this is a monumental win considering all our injuries. No Ibra, no Kjaer, no Bennacer, no Rebic, Tonali out at half time. Truly exceptional.

A few things...

Without Kessie we're royally f*cked against Lazio. Krunic is just so... I feel like I would be repeating myself over and over again, but he's next level terrible. Sassuolo's free kick was his fault for instance. And we'll have to play him at all cost unless Pioli invents something.

Also, Hauge has been a huge disappointment lately. He has brought nothing to our game, no vivacity, no unpredictability, no pace. And to add insult to injury, what he did in the case of Sassuolo's goal is unacceptable for a professional footballer.

The winter break can't come any sooner.

Krunic, and Tonali if his injury is not serious. Apparently it was "tension in the right adductor", whatever that means.

Agreed re Krunic. Let us all pray that Tonali is available for Lazio. This is why it's not a good idea to go into a season with just one alternative for 2 positions.

Hauge is just a bit lost imo, the kid is talented no doubt, but I don't get the feeling that he's really integrated into the system yet. He'll get there I'm sure. He's shown that he has the talent. The movement away from the ball while in the wall was bad for sure.

Agreed. Against Genoa he had some bad moments, but today he was good. The fact that we played a more compact game today helped in that regard

That's the thigh muscle if I'm not mistaken, so add another muscle injury to the growing list

Hope it's not serious.

If we have Tonali available, I think Pioli should just play Hakan next to him in the DP, I trust him there more than Krunic.

Hopefully we'll have Rebic back as well for Lazio
CrazyMilanFan
Saw the last 20 odd minutes but yea important 3 points hopefully we get players fit asap because our squad depth is almost out of depth now.

We're at the point where we're losing the players supposed to provide said depth.

Agreed. Tonali-Hakan in the DP with Rebic, Brahim and Saelemaekers behind Leao. That is, if Tonali recovers.

Maybe we'll know by tomorrow if he can play on Wednesday

Regarding individual performances today, I also wanted to mention Kalulu. I think it was easy to criticise him against Genoa when everybody was having a bad game, but for a 20 year old right-back who's being thrown in the mix out of the blue he's showing incredible composure and reliability. Great prospect to have.

Theo had a beast of a match, even defensively, but he should work a bit on his final touch when he's bursting forward.

Kessie was the usual beast in midfield, and I also thought Hakan was excellent. But Leao especially impressed me. A player I can't usually stand, today he entered the pitch with a different mentality. That's how he should approach every match. Hopefully with Rebic back Pioli continues to play him centrally.
Fillipo Simone
But still Leao lacks passion and consistency. Even today he lost interest in the game in second half. He again got that sluggish attitude.

As for Hauge, well, "unacceptable for a professional footballer" is overreacting for sure, he's a kid that just came from one of the worst leagues in Europe. Surely he needs time to learn and adapt and this is precisely why Pioli avoids starting him.

I think that's in his character, that kind of sluggish attitude. But the approach to the game today was different, you can't deny it.

I was referring to that movement on Sassuolo's free kick. The ball was coming on his face, so chickened out and as a result we conceded.
Fillipo Simone
Yes, I know. He shouldn't do that, but well... don't be so shocked, he's a kid ripped out of the Norwegian league.
