Back to the league, and now we need to revert our focus on this 100%. This is our only objective left for the season, and I know the team will have to shrug off the huge disappointment and sense of being cheated of the CL and get back in full swing in the league.
Fiorentina are awful right now, so lost points here should not even be an option.
Hopefully we'll have VB back here, if so, my team would be
Abate--Nesta--Mexes--Antonini
Aqui--VB--Nocerino
Boateng
Ibra--Robinho
That's basically a full strength line-up aside from Silva, so again, no excuses here

I would actually take the risk of starting Ibra from the bench if I were coach. We've worked a thoroughbred like a farmhorse these past few weeks. Last thing we need is for Ibra to go out injured. We need to get this year's scudetto otherwise this season has been an abject failure.
Abate---Bonera---Mexes---Antonini
Aquilani----MvB-----Il Noce------
----Urby-----------ElSharaawy----
------------Prince----------------
I know this is a very experimental forward line...but I think Prince has the attributes to be a false 9.

But who am I kidding, we'll probably be playing han's formation, except for maybe Bonera coming in for Mexes and our blonde angel playing his 4th game in 2 weeks if van Bommel is still injured. In which case we will have a massive mistake for sure.

The Italian media are speculating on exactly what Antonio Conte said to his Juventus troops during a 12-minute motivational speech.
The tactician spoke at length to his entire squad on Tuesday in a bid to fire them up ahead of the last eight games of the campaign.
“Milan will have to spit blood until the very end to win the championship,” the former midfielder allegedly stated.
“People are flooding us with praise right now, but that sends shivers through me. Why? Because I have fear, I have fear, I have fear that someone here will start to relax.
“There is applause and a consensus, but what is the reality? The reality is the pitch, the reality is sweat, the reality is sacrifice.
“That is what has led us to this point of the championship and we still haven’t done anything yet…
“Let’s look at who we have in front of us now because we are mature enough to fight until the very end.
“As I said before, they will have to spit blood until the last game.”
Juventus, who travel to Palermo this weekend, are now just two points behind leaders Milan in the championship.
The Old Lady, unbeaten this term, will also face Napoli in the Coppa Italia Final next month.
And spit blood we will!

Well they of all people should know that the only reason they are still up in the title race is because of the turds that turn up as referees in Serie A matches.

Had it been not for them, Milan would have been out of reach. Of course, I don't expect him to tell this to the team, but they should still know it deep down, those actors.
Then there is the issue of maturity. I've seen little to none of it from Juventus coach or management.

Maturity in terms of game and results. And they've clearly grown in that aspect.

Agreed, mtl, that midfield just looks like trouble to me, Muntari acts like a r@t@rd most of the time, I'm sorry to have to say that, but he does. He's just not good enough, especually in that scenario when he'd have to be the leader in that midfield.
We only have Serie A left to focus on. That means going out for these last few matches at 100%, with our best line-ups, no excuses.

Agreed with this bit. Juve have shown this season that when they are winning and doing well they're gracious, but when things don't go their way they throw tantrums. It's typical Conte behaviour and it's spread throughout the entire Club, which is what's making them so dispacble for me, thus my serious hate factor towards them this season

So, what's new?

There is little difference between Emanuelson and Boateng, apart from the fact that the later is more physical, better built and obviously faster. If anything, Allegri gives Emanuelson more brownie point considering he's made the place his own over the season.
Now, whether both of them are creative enough to be the AMs of a club like ours is another matter, altogether.

Exactly.

When you add the three things I listed about Boateng, he is a better player by default. Only way Emanuelson can compete with him (due to his physical shortcomings) is by being much more creative, visionary and being able to create goal-scoring opportunities almost at will.
We all know he has pretty much failed here in these regards. In a perfect world, he'd barely be bench material.

I don't get it. Why this maturity talk. It's a motivational speech dammit, not an official statement. I've heard coaches holler superlatives and diminutives all the time, they don't connect with reality/the real state of things, but their point is to motivate even the worst and the best. So why make a big deal out of it? Who knows what Mazzari, Don Fabio or any other coach yells in the dress room?
acid911
Apr 6 2012, 01:54 PM
Well frankly, I wouldn't doubt Juventus has got bit of an influence in every darned place, including the media. A club as big as them surely has contacts and fans/sympathizers in the papers and news channels, and they've been spewing up material in support of the club, as well as pressurizing the Italian football federation.
This speculating about the motivational speech is one such tactic. Letting the world know that they are doing anything they can in the power to mount a serious challenge. No wonder referees favor Juventus anytime they can. But to see their real face (and compare it with Milan) see them when they are losing.

They'll pull up every dirty trick in the book, from fouls to circling the officials. And don't get me started on the linesmen.
I know people dislike inter more than Juventus, but I fear this Juventus is even more classless than before.
