Here's a hint: this player was good for Milan but was much better for another team prior to coming to Milan.

YES! Give the man a cigar as the rest of you hang your heads in shame. smile.gif

Well I'm very grateful, Miz totally hijacked my question.

And I'm even more shocked no one knew the answer as to who Cryuff was referring to. Tennie ohmy.gif You disappoint me.

This comment was made during the press conference before the 94 CL final. Cryuff trying to mock Milan's 'defensive' mentality while talking about the greatness of Barca's attack. This is like my favouritest Milan match ever. Even more than Man U 3-0. Coz we weren't supposed to have a chance in this one.

I think Milan's attack was...

Tassoti---Galli---Paolo---Panucci (at LB)
Boban----Desailly---Albertini-----Donadoni
--------Savicevic---------------------------
-----------------------Beep Beep-----------

Barca had....

Ferrer--Koeman---Bakero---Nadal
---Sergi ----Amor---Guardiola---
Stoichkov--Romario----Beguiristain

Amazing to see Panucci own Stoichkov. And Romario hardly got a peep all game. Usually Baresi-Billy was our stock CB pairing and our specialty was the offside trap. The Kaiser was just unbelievable at the offside trap. But with Franco and Billy out, this mean Paolo and Galli were our CBs AND they were playing deep, since they couldn't really have the same understanding to play the offside trap. This was supposed to play right into Barca's hands, since they love the passing game.

Even though it says a 4-4-2 for Milan, it was for me a 4-2-4. Desailly and Albertini were just immense. Totally owned, the Barca mid-field. And Koeman biggrin.gif. I remember someone saying Koeman's reading of the game and distribution was so awesome. Ha....Dejan and Beep Beep just ran at him like mad. He had no clue what to do.

Oh..and the answer to my question: Marcel Desailly. biggrin.gif king.gif As it turns out Desailly totally choked Romario off any service.

Jack, I remember the game very clearly (see my post elsewhere about the 94 final. That game is one reason why no matter how much of a primadonna he is, I won't say a word against Panucci). Just not the exact Cruyff quote. wink.gif

Anyway, you're still it so do you have another question?
Jack Sparrow
Can't think of anything...sad.gif

Bah...first Rossoneri player to win the Ballon d'Or?
Habitant
easy...rivera
Habitant
and by beep bepp you mean massaro? biggrin.gif
Fillipo Simone
I guess it's your turn now!
Habitant

Habitant
k i'll go ahead anyways

former milan player that has coached us along with another club a combined 7 times.
Fillipo Simone
You mean he was 7 years long coach of Milan+team X or that he was appointed 7 times? Nils Liedholm?

yes and yes
Fillipo Simone
Okay, this one should be easy: which Milan keeper spent most of his career with AS Roma (before Milan-time!), and won the scudetto in his first Rossonero season?
Fillipo Simone
So, does anyone know the answer?
kurtsimonw
I wish you hadn't said it was easy, I haven't a clue.

Abbiati is current keeper, before that it was Kalac, then Dida, Abbiati again, Rossi.. before that I just don't know, that was before my time.
MizNelson
That would be Fabio Cudicini.

OK. I wracked my brain for awhile, but here was the best I could come up with.

Two-parter: Name the other GK to win two Champions Leagues/European Cups with Milan, and the seasons in which he won them.
Fillipo Simone
Giovanni Galli in 1989 and 1990? I remember his weired south american style of kicks.
sakhratul
all the question just made me realised i still dont know a lot of things about milan.. ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Fillipo Simone
Well, one learns for a liftime long...

So, MissN, is my answer right?

I hate it when I ask a question here and then I forget about it.

Anyway, you are right as rain. smile.gif Congrats.
Fillipo Simone
Thanks...I like goalie questions..

Okay, let's see...

Which season was the last season all Milan strikers (who appeared at least once) scored in Serie A, considering the period from 1990 to 2000? Name all of them!
Tennie
Hrm. 1990/91 with Van Basten, Massaro, Simone and Agostini?
Fillipo Simone
Nope, but close.
Tennie
How about the team the year after the Barcelona Cl win - 94-95? Di Canio was one of the strikers but I'm not remembering the others.
Fillipo Simone
Yep, it was that season, and yes, di Canio is one. Let's get the others...

(One is my favorite, part of my name is after him,..)
Tennie
Marco Simone?
Fillipo Simone
Indeed. Now, let's remember a certain Foggia striker and a certain Parma striker...
Jack Sparrow
Beep Beep Massaro?

Indeed. Now, let's remember a certain Foggia striker and a certain Parma striker...

Is the Parma striker Melli?
Fillipo Simone
Yep, Massaro is in, and yep, it is Melli!

So, we have: Simone, Di Canio, Massaro, Melli

Still missing: the man from Foggia, a regular Milan AM/SS (or winger) and a Toro star.
Tennie
Savicevic?
mishie
Lentini?
Fillipo Simone
Both correct. Now the last one - the man who played for various teams in various positions; some of them - Foggia (one of the few bright spots), Lazio, Genoa,...
