What a game i honestly didn't see this comming we did one better then last season which was 4 -1 and funnly enough this isnt the first time we beat them 5-1 ...back in season 2005/2006 we had the exact same result oh the memories smile.gif ...any way all that really counts is the three points but i really wanted Pato to score a hatrick or Kaka' maybe that was asking a bit to much innocent.gif .Anyway they are comming here to Dubai next and the weather is great 25C !!! lets we get some players back on the pitch and free of injuries !!

FORZA GRANDE MILAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

certainly did, neither he or Darmain looked out of place at all, in fact that looked like they had played in that team regularly. smile.gif

Wow, we've been terrible whenever I've watched us this season - except against Inter - and I have to go out with friends, come back, check livescore and it says Milan 5-1 winners! I'm going to assume that will a result like that, the performance couldn't have been half bad.

Kaka' really is massively important to us, quite obviously.
I_Rossoneri
Absolutely brilliant result and performance tonight and no DM's - coincidence? I think not.

We need to learn from this and stop being so negative in games.

Agreed. Too much negativity recently, trying to hold 1-0 scorelines etc, when we're allowed to play the result is usually similar to tonight.

Interesting, didn't think of that.

In any case, even if Carlo has now realised that playing less DMs benefits the team, he needs to go. He's held the team back with his negative tactics for too long.
mishie
I agree with you all about the DM's but only to a point...i don't think you can go into every game with so many offensive players without at some point being overrun but after all this was a team made out of a thread bare squad so the team almost picked it's self i don't believe for 1 minute that had Mr.Ancelotti had all his players at his disposal he would have gone with anything like the team we had.

But i'm not going to put a damper on a good performance and win looking forward now to the New year and see how Mr.Beckham fits in all this

Agree with you on the players, but tonight our mentality seemed more attack minded and it suited us better.

So Ancelotti shouldn't take credit then?

Because he didn't pick this team out of choice, just necessity.

Anyways, good to hear Antonini played well! biggrin.gif

No, it's not a coincidence. DM's in such a match would be a wiast. Why? Simple. Because Udinese had no midfield. There was no one to be covered, every Udine players simply slided to the side. That combined with their bad passing allowed us to play without DM's. Even if Udine tried a counter attack, it all ended up once again on the flank, mostly our left. This certainly isn't an example match cause most of the big/strong teams don't use that kind of a naive tatcic at San Siro. And the smaller one defend differently and make their counterstrikes in waves, not so chaotic.

I don't think Kaka is Milan. Or that there's no Milan without Kaka.
Yes, today played AB Milan. But I'm still sure AC Milan will outlive them.

(Btw. MOM to me is Pato)

No, you didn't say that, I know you didn't. But like you said, Carlo would have picked more DMs had he been able to, and judging on recent results.performances.. no way would we have scored 5 (or probably even won).

But it is FINALLY good to see a positive result. It's all part of the Beckham effect, I tells ya. biggrin.gif

Naa-naa. Now you're being unfair. At least a bit. We would have won. Carlo had Cardacio on his bench but didn't used him. Do I have to repeat why? Udinese tactic. It really was obvious.

he certainly got a hero's welcome and i'm not sure he will only be here for 3 months.....did anyone notice at the press conference all the adidas kit laying around (just a guess this bit) but if he does well and plays i think adidas may find a way of manipulating a way out of his Galaxy contract on join Milan on a permanent deal wink.gif

On the whole DM thing.

I don't think that this game is a good indicator as to whether or not our problems stem from the 2 DMs, like Filippo said Udine started the game stretched and they defended worse then we have been defending these past few weeks. With that said, I also think that even though it doesn't conclude anything, it shows just how much more fluint we are when one of the 2 DMs is removed and replaced with Seedorf, someone that can dribble, pass and hold onto the ball, imo this makes a huge difference.

I think had we played with the usual 2 DM system tonight we would have still struggled to break Udine down, because we don't keep the ball that well when we play with the 2 DMs, we always try to go through with the same plays and get easily stifled out through the middle. And we play the ball way too much in the center area with the 2 DMs because we cannot find our way through, therefore we waste so much times passing the ball around between the defenders and midfielders, always passing backwords or sideways without any penetration. Look at how we mived the ball around tonight, we could have never done that with both Ambro and Gattuso on the field.

I know some here would never admit that Carlo is wrong in his choices but you have to admit that his 2 DM system does not work in Serie A, this has been proved over and over again, and when we don't play with the 2 DM we play much better. The xmas tree with the 2 DM system should be done and dusted. If Carlo wants to keep insisting on the xmas tree then fine, but the midfield 3 has to be Pirlo, Seedorf and a defensive mid, not 2 DMs, it's as simple as that imo

Since Italians are very superstitious, I say maybe it was that CWC winners badge that'd cursed us. we didn't have it on our shirts tonight...

I think it's not rocket science either as to why Carlo did not play Cardacio rolleyes.gif I mean come on!! He'd rather play a midfield of all defenders rather then let one of the youngsters start.

The only reason Darmian and Strasser got anywhere near that pitch is because we were winning 5-1

True, I still can't understand how and why that happened. goodheart.gif Still as far as our crossing is concerned, I'm of the opinion it's probably our worst department, right next to the defense. Lots and lots of improvement needed, even if players sometime manage to make good crosses.

Zambrotta, had high hopes for him, but he's been anonymous too bar that wonder strike.
kurtsimonw
The lack of width in the midfield doesn't help, and players like Kaka' and Ronaldinho aren't exactly known for their crossing (though R80 can put in a decent ball to his credit), I think it may help. Plus it will give my pal Ambro more goalscoring chances with that heading ability of his. cool.gif
