I didn't watch the match but i can't believe my eyes..Milan top of Serie A after a long time..Highlights please...Ronnie helped us against Inter now its against Napoli...Thank God we won...I was looking at some of the comments on forum.acmilan-online when it was 3 mins left and twas like ma heart almost stopped..smile.gif..Neways Forza Milan...I love this team!!!
Darunia
Wow we're first... EVERYTHING went our way and FINALLY an OG saved us.

Hamsik, Santacroce... Napoli's best two players injured. Maggio sent off. Penalty. Then finally OG. Wow.
dst
Ronaldinho I think was our worst player. He was holding us back and he even made Cannavaro look great. Should have been taken off.

Gattuso was MOM and Lavezzi was unstoppable!

The most important thing is that we bagged the 3 points! cool.gif
Darunia
Btw their GK was WAY off his line... the penalty was soft though, our 3rd soft penalty in a row?

Wow, we play like **** and then win on an own goal. If fate isn't smiling down on us, then I don't know what it is.

It's Jesus.
MizNelson
I fixed it earlier, 10e.

I'd rather have us at the top on our own merits rather than from an own goal. We were hot and cold today.
Tennie
Re the penalty: looked to me like a clear handball in the area. Unless I'm totally on crack, that's a penalty.

Sure, I'll PM it to you. tongue.gif

Napoli was too agressive and all of them was their fault , we have many in attacks so they are forced to penalize.
CrazyMilanFan
naploli went definsive after second half and i think that cost them the point
Tennie
Fishdoll awards a cookie to Favalli. He did quite well given who he was up against -- I was sure we'd concede given who was in defense and the power of the attack facing us.
MizNelson
From what I've heard, Iezzo was a rock in goal today. We're still making opposing league GKs look Buffonesque.
Fillipo Simone
It's matches like this one that win you the title wink.gif

Still, more then 60% of matches to play. A lot of things to do, and so little time,..

Re the penalty: looked to me like a clear handball in the area. Unless I'm totally on crack, that's a penalty.

""PENALTY TO MILAN!!! The Napoli players are furious with the decision, as Kaka's ball in strikes the hand of Pazienza from just one yard away. A very harsh decision by the referee, however his decision has been made, and the penalty will stand."

'The referee pointed to the spot with eight minutes to go for a handling offence on Kaka's cross, but it seemed an extremely harsh decision. Pazienza was very close to the ball and it appeared to be ball-to-hand. Mil"

" The REFEREE GIVES MILAN A PENALTY - The ball smashes off Pazienza's hand on the edge of the box from a Kaka cross and the referee gives a penalty - very harsh as his hand was down - what was he supposed to do?"

I've seen those decisions go either way..are u saying I'm on crack =/

Pazienza's arms were both well away from his body and not in 'natural' positions. The commentary...well, I disagree. smile.gif

And why the **** are we bickering anyway? Milan got the 3 points, they won the game, and they're in first place.

sleep.gif

Pato... *sigh* what a miss

For some weird reasons he can't be himself when Ronaldinho's on the pitch... also I doubt if his teammates passed the ball to him more than 2 or 3 times. but he wasn't good and this time even I will admit it. that ******* header should have went in! mad.gif

cry.gif

Even 3 points can't make me feel better after almost 70 minutes of sh1tty Milan. we're not convincing at all but we're winning. kinda strange.
KillerMax
That was a clear penalty. He blocked the ball with his in the area = penalty.

Somebody please post a picture of the updated table so we can all enjoy the **** out of it!!!!

FORZA GATTUSO!!!

If Milan was on top more often... maybe I wouldn't have to go to such extremes laugh.gif

Anyways, life is good now. Kaladze is back, Senderos and Nesta make their return midweek, somehow we're top of the table with Favalli playing CB. Pretty dang good.
acid911
Anyway, looking at the table, we also have the most number of victories (7), and the least amount of goal conceded (also 7) tied with both inter and Juve. devil.gif They may have great goalkeepers, while we have a great defense. Abbiati, I think will lose some of his gloss as the season progresses; his aerial abilities are exposed every match. Hopefully it is enough to land us the Scudetto.

Yeah, Abbiati has been making Gomes like blunders lately... lucky he hasn't been punished.
Rossoneri7
A lot could be said about this encounter ... But the 3 points remains the priority when you consider this team's push for the Scudetto.

I think Milan played rather well, being disciplined and precise throughout the game. The possession football and the movement from one side to another is also a highlight. Also, Seedorf was the highlight of the match, he brought the team together and produced a real good display.

Bonera - Favalli were good !! The weakest points of the team, but they kept Napoli's threat at the minimum. But also thanks to the hard work of Ambrosini and Gattuso who really ran the show in the engine room.

About the penalty .. I think it wasn't a penalty, simple because the player's arm was close to his body and didn't have it stretched out .. And Ronaldinho's freekick, sure the ball got deflected into goal, but that ball was a beauty when watching it on replay for three different angles.

All in all, it was a heated encounter .. And consider the 90 mins of game time, Milan had the game within their grasps .. By the end of half time, Milan should have had 2 or 3 goals !

It's funny you should mention Gomes, because he's been getting roasted on a spit lately from the English press.

Fishdoll owner: We're happy to FINALLY be atop the table, yet it wasn't in the fashion that we'd hoped, with generally poor play and an own goal.

That's what I thought too but..

"The coach also talked about the injured players and the Alexandre Pato's start to the season: "I think that both Nesta and Senderos could come back next week against Braga. Pato still has some limits, which he is trying to eliminate in this period. He especially needs to learn to be more ruthless and confident inside the area."" - Carlo

my ratings:

Abbiati - 6.5 Looked shaky at times... but did pull off a couple of good saves.
Zambro - 7.5 good pace going forward
Bonera - 7.5 showing real professionalism lately.. smile.gif
Favalli - 7 good performance when called up like this
Janku - 7.5 went on some explosive runs, earned the red card tongue.gif
Gattuso - 8.5 biggrin.gif so much energy coming off him king.gif
Ambro - 7 decent game, lost focus at times
Seedorf - 7 despite the absence of Pirlo, he won the ball in midfield couple of times
Kaka - 7.5 created good spacing through out the game, unlucky on the post.. he can score so many penalties consistently
Ronaldinho - 8 Scored the goal and unlucky to be denied by an amazing save in the first half
Boreillo - 6.5 Not impressed with his "Gila" showing.

Thank you. sleep.gif He's a kid, and you know what, this miss will only do him good. Bring him some much needed experience as well as build his nerves. He's lucky to still be playing in Serie A (ask Paloschi), and the great player he is, I'm sure he's soaking it all in to explode when his time comes. That missed chance, however, was just meh. I literally celebrated while he was about to head it, knowing he can't miss from there.

It was harsh because it was unlucky for the Napoli player. rolleyes.gif It wasn't intentional from him. But the referee made the right call, and so did you. 99/100 it'd be a penalty, a player playing on world level should learn to keep his hands away from the ball.

As long as we get the points we cannot complain too much about our display. We sure have to be sharper and more decisive but tonight we got the 3 points and we'll be able to work on that in peace.

Oh, that's not a problem. If I were you I'd say funk the naysayers. biggrin.gif They were always there when we last won the league. When we won the CL in 2003 and 2007, and they sure as hell will be there when we finish this season as champions. Tell them we've won 11 out of 12 matches running, how much have you won? Sure they'll say they were against lesser opponents, but in my humble opinion, Milan's biggest challenge has been overcoming these smaller pests - the Juves, Romas, Fiorentinasand inters we can handle.

You see, I'm a man of simple tastes! cool.gif As long as Milan win the league and the UEFA cup, and Gila finishes as top scorer in Serie A, I'm set, baby! As an extra topping throw in both inter and Juve missing out on CL next season, if you feel generous, but that's it.

We are top of Serie A, we played with desire and determination, our players were sweating blood on the pitch against such an exciting and young team and I honestly can't complain. If anything, I'll have to praise our players for such a show. This was a match that could have gone either way and we knew it before it even started. Now that we won, I'm only grateful. I don't need to wish that we won like this or that. Don't need to wish anything. We're already leading the table. At least until next match-week.

FORZA MILAN!!
