QUOTE
The agent of teenage sensation Alexandre Pato is in Milan for talks with both San Siro clubs, although Chelsea also want the Brazilian.

Representative Gilmar Veloz flew in to Milan this morning for negotiations, as 17-year-old Pato has set the transfer market alight with his performances for Internacional.

He has already won the Copa Libertadores and FIFA World Club Championship and was a star of the Under-20 South American Championship, won by Brazil in January.

“Pato is a young player, very young, but we are not the only important club who like him,” noted Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti on Friday.

Inter are also preparing a firm £17m bid for what many have referred to as ‘the new Kaka’, but Chelsea are in the frame too.

Chelsea also wanted Kaká back in '02-'03... I hope we get him and he becomes the next big thing! smile.gif

Yeah, it is the same situation,...I have faith in Leonardo and our strong brazilian community,...

His agent is in Milano? Then... Moratti will hijack him.

Though I think we'd be a major hit in Milanello... brazillian/italian core would be very important for his development. Not... argentinien group in the other side of Milano.
whoarethepatriots
Id love to have him, one for the future rather than now, but he could explode at any moment ala kaka
kurtsimonw
He wouldn't suit Chelsea, or the Premiership, at all.

I'm a bit bias here, but it would be best for his career if he moved to Milan over Chelsea, after all, how many Brazilian's have succeeded in England?

Pato for Milan! king.gif
misha
Leonardo would convince him to move to Milan. Inter = Argentina and Brazilians usually don't go to the EPL. He has example of many his countryman who succeded here and I'm sure good advise from R99 or Kaka would follow...

Advice from Kaka? So... Pato is going Real?? biggrin.gif

Italian reports that he's in Milano for talks with... Inter. Not Milan.

In todays market you can't be picky. Be thankful we've got already got a good striker, and are linked with guys like Cassano. Arsenal/United/Liverpool only have one top forward between them. wink.gif

I'm sure Milan will take advantage of him being here even if he came for Inter! We will definitely have talks but we would surely lose him to Inter if we entered a bidding war.

ya thought the same, he got one good shot in from in tight but it was partially blocked if not it was probably going in.

iv watched the duck before and hes amazing for his age. He played amazingly against al-ahli. These are the type of players we need !!! Gourcuff , Nasri and DUCK !!

Well, though porty's post kind of turned me off, pato is much closer to Milan than the merda.

The merda already have like 6 strikers of top quality, pato wont commit suicide.

Plus .. If Milan really want him, they will get him

I wish that were true, as European Champions I thought things would be different from last season. But Abidal turned us down to move to Barca, Suazo turned us down to move to Inter and alot of top players have been heavily linked with Inter this summer.

They definetly have the pulling power over us, if they want somebody, we may as well look elsewhere. Maybe with Pato's age he'll be different, I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to sit in the reserves for 5 years.

Inter Prepare 25 Million Euro Bid For Pato - Report

According to the 'Corriere dello Sport', the Nerazzurri are focusing their attention on the new rising star of Brazil.

Alexandre Pato has become the main target of Inter according to the Italian daily sports newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport' after the player's agent, Gilmar Veloz, was spotted in Milan.

Apparently Inter have joined the race to sign the Independientes striker and will be battling it out against Chelsea and Milan, even though the Rossoneri seem to have lost a bit of their initial interest in the player since they are not ready to spend more than 12 million Euros.

On the other hand, Inter are ready to fork out 25 million Euros, even though the Brazilian player has a release clause of 15 million Euros.

Pato is currently playing with the Brazilian national side in the Under 20 World Cup being held in Canada, but the South American side disappointed in their first match as they were defeated by Poland.

That's alot of money for somebody that young. ohmy.gif

But I don't understand, why pay E25m? When they only have to pay E15m? huh.gif

You see .. The problem here is that we (milanfan.com) are sitting at home and reading from several sources to get a feel of what is going on, in regards to Milan. And the info that we are fed are usually the bottom line info, no details.

I mean, Suazo and Abidal look for HUGE contracts, especially since they both come from clubs that have a low salary cap. What Milan offered was what it offered to it's average team players (I know this, cuz it is what the club has been saying for the past decade). That is why they choose Inter and Barca over Milan.

But if Milan really wants a player, they will reel him in. Take a good example from Nesta, he was bound to leave, and all the top clubs were hovering around him like vultures .. Madrid and Juve were in the bidding and they probably offered him really high wages, but Milan and Berlusconi wanted him, so he is playing in Milan today wink.gif

It doesn't take much to acknowledge this .. I mean, who are Abidal and Suazo ?! Sure they are good players (and don't get me wrong, I do rate them highly..), but they aren't world class players. What you fail to see is Milan is on the verge of building a world class team cool.gif

Sure .. They will let these buys go - referring to Abidals and Suazos- but they wont let players like Ronaldinho go by, cuz for players like Ronaldino (world class players) Milan is always first in line for them devilsmiley.gif

Maybe we are just too anxious, but be sure that this club is #1 and Europe and Berlusconi's aim is to keep it that way, no matter the odds. This is the same Silvio Berlusconi from 86 till 07 and hopefully for another decade king.gif
