Der italienische Vizemeister AC Milan überlegt laut Angaben seines Vizepräsidenten Adriano Galliani, aus dem berühmten Giuseppe-Meazza-Stadion (San Siro) in Mailand auszuziehen und ein neues Stadion zu bauen.

"Unser Stadion ist zwar eines der am wenigsten schlechten in Italien: Das Spielfeld ist ausgezeichnet, man hat einen guten Blick von den Tribünen, man wird nicht nass, wenn es regnet, und es ist leicht erreichbar", so Galliani.

"Aber es mit (dem Stadtrivalen) Inter zu teilen ist nicht immer einfach", sagte Galliani der Tageszeitung "Corriere della Sera". Galliano ist auch Präsident des Italienischen Fußballverbandes.


Das Stadion, eröffnet 1926 und 1950 erweitert, bietet 82.955 Zuschauern Platz. Anlässlich der Fußball-WM 1990 wurde es erneut umgebaut und um einen dritten Rang erweitert. Dieser wird von insgesamt elf Türmen gehalten. In vier dieser Türmen befinden sind auch die Aufgänge zu den einzelnen Rängen.

It's been on for like forever in wikipedia. I asked around.Seems it was just a pressure tactic to ease up the cash we play for using the Siro.

Sorry, forgot to translate...well, seems that Galliani is up to building a new stadium, only for Milan to get rid of the Interisti...

It would be a shame, leaving San Siro...this stadium is a true symbol. We would do the same mistake Arsenal did..

But if it`s just a Galliani manouver,...

No. NEVER!! I wouldn't be able to stand a "Live the Coke side of like" stadium (not unless it's real coke... tongue.gif )!!!

San Siro was built for Milan to play in anyways!!!!! mad.gif

If there's a team to leave San Siro it's Inter. Not Milan.

Yep. After we played Schalke. Galliani was amazed by their stadium.

most teams build new stadiums when it will cost more for repairs than actually building a new stadium. since the san siro is so old that could be the case in the next 5-10 years. i would hate to see them leave, but sometimes it makes more since business wise.

Well San Siro had a BIT more seats than Highbury had...

Yeah. Highbury was only 37,000 or so. Which for a team of that size is tiny, they sell out their new 60,000 seater so it was a good move in my opinion.

Ahem...could it be that this news is really from last year cause "Vizemeister" means that we made the 2nd place in Serie A which we did not (but last year)....

I think it would be silly leaving the San Siro. It's one of, if not, the best stadia in the World. I know it has all those silly Inter folk sitting in there, too. But I'm sure that stench is easily cleaned up. wink.gif

They should build one right in the middle of Via Manzoni.

I think Inter should build a new stadium instead.
