I belive it is true. Milan site is a little bit slow in terms of announcements.

Simic is a central defender. And I can't see us letting him go because of all the injuries in defence.

Simic has 5 % of the games with Milan as centreback and 95 % as fullback. He'll leave. He is on his way out since last January when we first tried to sign Oddo.

And Bonera was far from impressive against Lazio particulary when Rocchi tested him with his pace.


Perhapse the contract isn't signed yet that's why there is no official anouncement but Gazzetta isn't Sun or Mirror

PS: dst, I thought you were a Kaladze defender... some months ago. Well, maybe I'm mistaken.

Now we have 3 right backs - Oddo, Cafu, Simic + Bonera who is turned into centreback now but used to play in Parma as right defender.

Simic in unreliable as centreback so simply there's no place for him. Our true problems are the centrebacks. With Nesta out only choice is Bonera - Maldini. But Paolo should not play every game so.....Costacurta ?

Kaladze is better as centreback in fact. surely better than Simic. And could play on the left as well were we have only Jankulovski.

It's logical that Simic should go. Simply there will be no place for him in the squad except in case of emergency.

I think Simic, Cafu & Billy must go. They are old enough. Ilsinho is our man.

He is a natural CB... at Parma he only played at RB when it was needed.


Simic was never unreliable... I always thought his fault was that he couldn't "see" what's going to happen and his positioning. But whenever he played as a CB this season he was always great... If anyone is unreliable is Kaladze: He always does (at least) one BIG mistake!!

Billy and probably Paolo will retire this summer so we should wait and see if anyone else should go!

Simic is ridiculous. a dew years back when we were the best team in the world he was our worst player. He was 2 levels under that team.

I'm not a suporter of Kaldze either. But Kaladze was awuful as leftback. He has bad positioning but it's ok as centreback.

And Bonera played also as centreback in Parma - true. But I think that was more after P. Cannavaro left. And Couto was first choice centeback for several years.

Have an opinion but don't argue just for the argument. I follow MILAN for many many years and know more about this team that many people arround...

Finally...we have a RB again. Oddo is a great signing for me. A very strong player, in the defense and in the attack, he also has lots of experience to give. I can't wait to see him in Red&Black.

Simic is not as bad as people make him. He said it himself that he feels better playing as a CB and when he got the chance to do so this season, he was o.k.

Simic was never unreliable cause we never relied on him!!! He was always a mediocre defender but since you follow Milan that much you have probably watched him this season saving our @ss in several occasion!! On the other hand Kaladze is Silvio's little pet and he'd first choice if he was not injured... so he'd play but he's not one you can rely on when he's playing, Milan makes him look good as with many other players...

I agree. Simic is a good, maybe even reliable CB. But as dst said, he never got a chance in Milan, because of ugly Kaladze, who tends to screw things up just A LITTLE...

Anyway, about Simic and Kala, I think both are good as a CB's cause it's their natural position, but when it comes to play in the flancs Kala is 10x better then Simic!

I think none of them is a true Milan quality but Kala is definitely more reliable then Simic, at least he's strong physically and when he plays along side with Nesta or Don Paolo he makes a good performances!

If we should get rid of one of them I'd go for Simic, cause we already have Bonera who plays at the same positions, who is better and younger!

By the end of the season we must just let go Cafu and take a young RB for the future.

We desperately did need fresh blood here, though Oddo hardly ideal. Still, he's better than nothing I suppose.

Cafu's bodily has obviously physically given up on him. Dispatch with him. Simic, well, Carlo will never be confident playing him at CB. When push comes to shove, he prefers Costacurta, as he did for Barcelona v Milan last year.

Bonera does seem to really be getting into his stride now, and must be the 1st change CB for Nesta/Maldini. Otherwise, he might as well play RB. Think I prefer him to Oddo actually at RB. So RB, or CB if either Maldini or Nesta out for whatever reason.

I think, tbh, both him and Billy will now go this summer. Milan, though hardly on the crest of a wave, do not look as if next season we can do brilliantly.

I would play Kaladze at LB actually. His stint at CB, can only have helped him defensively. I think Jankulovski should be played more as a midfielder than LB. It's all very well having our wingbacks, but defensively they are part of the reason we are not so watertight at the back as previously.

I have yet to see anyhting of Grimio but I hope he's good.

at last Oddo at milan.my prayers have been answered.the official site has reported that it has been offically concluded that an agreement has been made.Thank God!!!i just hope that nesta gets well as soon as possible and then we have oddo,nesta,maldini,janku....dunno how reliable paolo can be as he is injury prone but lets hope for the best as this defense line up seems pretty solid....dont u guys think?hope we get very good defenders like paolo,nesta,oddo and cafu in future..hope we do better from the next game on and win the champions league and the italian cup...hope gila is ok as the site says and that he can play as soon as possible...if our defense problems are over and our forwards start playing as well as they really are,we can end this season well...i pray that we do

Have seen Bonera playing RB, he can't corss, can go up and has bad positioning!

Oddo is may be 30 yo but he stil has 3-4 years in him, plus he knows perfectly Seire A actually I think he's is the best offensive italian RB, if we manage to get someone younger in the summer that would be great, that way he could learn from Oddo and be his replacement, but we can't gamble in some 20's inexperienced players at the moment

Are u kidding ?? maldini retire ? , not yet. the only way i think maldini will retire is lifting a piece of silverware, like the UCL , he still can play with a great level, he player really well against lazio, with all the other ones i agree, billy can be par of the techninical staff, or something like that. then cafu, fiori, sould retire, kaladze sould leave too, borrielo , and .. find a good way out to oliveria.. he has been a fiasco all season long to this term.

He might be a great offensive RB but this I think has been one of the policies that has not been successful and I would like to see changed - the wingbacks return to being full-backs. In my view, the defence is the area that needs to be reinforced drastically, so thats why I'd prefer to see him play RB for the defensive quality, essentially the same as playing Kaladze over Janku or Serginho at LB to maximise the defensive quality in those places.

As it is, with Nesta and Maldini's perpetual injuries, he [Bonera] will be required at CB most the time which is where he is better suited I agree.

Oddo is a rock in defence, but can still provide a lot going up.

Natural CB in the fullback areas aren’t comfortable and you can see them make mistakes that a natural fullback wouldn’t do.

I think you are right about the forwards. I think we need to keep Pippo and Gila, get rid of the rest and acquire new young talented strikers like Pato.
But the defence is too old. There is no other club with so many players over 35. All of them must retire or the club must sell them. Otherwise t will be difficult to chnage the generation in the team. Nesta, Oddo, Marek and Bonera must be supported by yung defenders who will experience playing with them. Why not Barzagli?

I agree but this quartette is amazing. Defenders' prime time is at the age 28 to 34!
