Milan: spunta Bojinov

Playing in Juventus at the moment, on loan from Fiorentina... he is Juve's 4th option for their attack (Trezeguet, Del Piero and Palladino are the first ones).

I wouldn't mind have him as our 4th attacker.

I don't agree... he was involved in many goals last season and just a week ago he set up Ricky's opener against Catania...

I wouldn't buy Mutu... cause I don't think he's that good to be a 1stXI player in Milan (not that Gila's much -if- better) and he wouldn't be satisfied with a sub job...

What did I win!?

Bojinov Reveals Milan Interest

The Fiorentina forward, currently on loan at Juventus, has overtaken Antonio Cassano in the Rossoneri's shortlist to sign a new striker during the January transfer market.

With Borriello suspended due to being found positive to an anti-doping test, Milan are searching for a new striker to fill in the gap left by the young Italian forward.

Up till a few days ago, everything seemed to point towards a move of Cassano to Milan, but negotiations are currently at a stall. For this reason, Carlo Ancelotti is now looking elsewhere, in particular at Valeri Bojinov who is finding it difficult to win a place with the starting eleven at Juventus in Serie B.

The Bulgarian forward admitted the Milan interest, even though ultimately the possible move does not depend from him.

"Milan wants me," declared Bojinov, "But it does not depend from me. It's up to Milan to negotiate with Juve and Fiorentina."

Are we seriously going after the guy that can't even get into the starting 11 of a serie B team???

that Serie B team are so obsessed with Del Piero that he'll play till he's 56 (at 57 he's just too old rolleyes.gif )... Bojinov is way better than that used-to-be-great-player!!

He didn't even start a lot of gtames for Fiorentina either last season.

But anyway if we go for him at least he isn't cup tied, so that is one good thing...

As I don't count on Borriello anymore, Bojinov is young (20) and could be a good add for the team. Who knows if he explodes in Milan and becomes a world class player?

He's not an inbox striker, he's strong, so I'd welcome him.

I thought he was only on-loan to Juventus (full ownership from Fiorentina). rolleyes.gif

Bojinov blocks Cassano move
Sunday 31 December, 2006

Antonio Cassano’s move to Milan could be abandoned in favour of Juventus benchwarmer Valeri Bojinov.

The Italian international is set to leave Real Madrid in January, just a year after his arrival from Roma, due to poor form and repeated rows with the club hierarchy, including Coach Fabio Capello.

While the Rossoneri look ready to sign a new striker to reinforce the side next month, Cassano could be considered more trouble than he is worth at the moment.

It’s reported the main sticking point is his future, as Cassano insists on a permanent move, whereas Milan would prefer a loan deal with an option to buy.

Instead, newspapers now report that Carlo Ancelotti is looking closer to home for an alternative, as Bojinov is eager to leave Juventus.

Even in Serie B, the Bulgarian prodigy cannot find space with Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and even Marcelo Zalayeta preferred ahead of him.

Bojinov shot to fame with Lecce as a teenager and was a flop at Fiorentina following his high-profile switch.

Loaned out to Juve in exchange for Adrian Mutu this summer, he has often criticised Coach Didier Deschamps for leaving him on the bench.

“Milan are interested in me,” Bojinov told the Italian media this weekend. “It’s not up to me, though. They have to negotiate with Juventus and Fiorentina.”

The Turin giants have an option to buy out half his contract by June 20 for £4m, but do not seem intent on doing so.

Meanwhile, Genoa are said to be tracking Bojinov's former Lecce teammate, Javier Chevanton, who is now at Monaco.

cassano or bojinov? hmm i would prefer cassano. anyone else agree?
Jack Sparrow
I hear Bojinov is a box player. In which case I don't see why we are even talking about him, when we have two of the best already.

Cassano I know for sure can play as a deep lying forward, so I guess Cassano is the lesser of two evils.

No he's not... (well I'm not quite sure). In any case we don't have two of the best, we have one that used to be in that league and another one who tries (hard(?)) to get into it... Still, we don't need another box player. unsure.gif biggrin.gif

Well bah humbug to you too.....

Pippo can kick RVN's a$$ anytime, and Gila is kewl, and on full form u'd choose Gila anyday coz he looks better.

I'd like to see RVN scoring when his @$$ is getting kicked. He's not THAT good.

he's a great player and definitely playing better than Super Hippo at the moment!!
Jack Sparrow
Now why would you say that?? Have Giuve planned a swoop for RVN?

Also we judged Ronnie in the WC...same yardstick applied to RVN wouldn't make him a flop, no but definitely a dissappointment.

laugh.gif I'm just kidding. I know RVN has great skills, SAF was plain stupid to think Saha could replace RVN. And it is unfair to compare RVN and Pippo. Probably the only person who has less skills is Simone Inzaghi. wink.gif j/k again.

Cassano and Bojinov = none of those are box strikers.

So then if they are not box players...get the cheaper guy. I don't think the Viola will sell. They don't hate our guts, but they are certainly not our best friends. Not like we gift wrapped Brocchi for them. wink.gif

hehe yeah .. But still, I think Broochi has been rather effective for us too.

Yes, but we got the leverage .. i.e. Silvio

Cassano can play in the center while Bojinov is more of a winger/ fast-pace player.

They have different attributes.

I think Fiorentina wanted to hold on to Brocchi, but considering the great season he had with them I didn't expect our management to just let him stay there.

There have been reports of Fiorentina being pissed at us for not letting them buy Brocchi

Yes I think Cassano can play in that Kaka position behind the strikers.

I would personally choose Cassano over the 2. Just the combination of him, Gila and Kaka is enough reason to give him a chance to prove himself.

Just think about these possibilities

Cassano--Gilardino
--------Kaka--------

-------Gilardino-------
---Kaka--Cassano----

---------Gilardino---------
Oliveira--Kaka--Cassano

or even if we want to rest Kaka (something he never get's to experiance)

Oliveira--Gila--Cassano

Oliveira--Gilardino
-----Cassano------

The combinations we could have if we do get Cassano and he does work out for us are endless.

I don't see why our management shouldn't try and gamble on him.
KillerMax
Looks very tempting! ^ But I think it will all come down to whether the Milan management believe in him or not.
