We'll have to wait and see what happens with Kessie and Romagnoli. So far we have only Dollarumma and Capanoglu as examples. For the first, it was impossible to grant him that salary and then find a suitable buyer when he had such a hard time finding a team as a free agent. Nobody was looking for a GK and even PSG who signed him are currently benching him. And let's not forget Raiola and all the f*cking terms and clauses he would have likely demanded to be inserted in the new contract. Whereas for Capanoglu, I think something more could have been done. We could have granted him that 5M salary and then put him on the market, I agree. We could have easily gotten around 20M from his sale. I think Maldini mismanaged that situation, and he knows it. |

With regards to Kessie's renewal:
Milan's latest offer was an ascending salary scheme, as follows: 2021/2022: EUR5.5M + Bonuses 2022/2023: EUR5.5M + Bonuses 2023/2024: EUR6.0M + Bonuses 2024/2025: EUR6.5M + Bonuses 2025/2026: EUR6.5M + Bonuses Kessie's agent was also contacted by Tottenham's sporting director who tabled an offer of equivalent to EUR8M salary with a high commission for the agent to sign the player next summer on a free transfer. Yet Kessie favours staying in Milan, if a deal is reached. |

In all honesty, Kessie is really asking way too much. He's on 2.2M FFS! Yes, he's had an excellent season, but that doesn't mean you can suddenly triple your salary just because of one good season.
Let's not forget that only a couple of years ago most fans couldn't stand him. He was sluggish, incompetent, plain bad. Yet as a club we stuck by him and now that things are looking good he's being unreasonable. It was the same with Capanoglu, although his form last season was in decline. Anyway, players are just mercenaries. Let's not think that Kessie will make a choice of heart cos we all know they all go after the $$$. |

Kessie is asking for too much IMO. He's good but he want's to triple his salary. That's excessive. |

From what I can infer, Bernardo has been "offered" to us by Mendes, because he wants to leave City and because City need to cash-in some money.
