Soriano deal is apparently on hold for now as they make a last attempt at Witsel (Galliani worried about midfield after the Fiorentina game) another face palm moment, like it wasn't already very clear that our midfield was mediocre and should have been first priority, not third after signing a gazillion attackers and one defender.

Belgian football back then had a long streak of playing final tournaments and their clubs produced better results as well. So...

Talks for Soriano are expected to begin again tomorrow.
