OK, here's a question: who do you guys want to sign until the end of August, and what would your preferred formation and starting line-up be? Personally, I'd be thrilled if we could get Laporte, Witsel and Ibra, and play like:

Abate - Mexes - Laporte - MDS
Witsel - De Jong - Bertola
Suso
Ibra - Bacca

If not title contender, definitely worth the 2nd spot.

However, I don't see Bertolacci as a CM, he's an AM imo.

So that 3rd CM spot has to go to Bona or Monto or Mauri or Poli imo

None of the options are all that great, Bona is more an AM as well, but he pulls more weight when we don't have the ball than Bertolacci would.

We really do miss someone who can control the game in that midfield though, no matter who plays

Bertolacci was mainly played as LCM last season, Han, and said that's his preferred position. I would rather have a proper trequartista for the role, with vision and nice passing skills. Suso best fits the description from what we have.

By the way, I'm still pissed at Bacca for choosing #70. Yes, laugh all you want, but odd numbers are a huge pet peeve of mine. Can't stand them!

You know, in Japanese Bacca means stupid, albeit it's written 'bakka'. I'd say it fits him to a tee, wouldn't you agree?

Bacca (- Baka) in Croatian means Grandma.

Title contender? I think to bring down Juventus will take much more then just Mihajlović and the newcomers you mention in your XI. Granted, this is a Pirlo-less Juventus who might even sell some of their biggest stars, but last year looked also shaky for Juventus yet their consolidated and came back stronger.

2nd spot should be a though fight, but we could possibly be able to reach that. Do not forget about Roma, Inter, Lazio, Fiorentina and Napoli. All very hard contenders and also more in tune then us (Roma and Lazio at least). I'm not willing to discuss lineups just yet, not sure who'll come or not. Thing is, we put all our eggs in one basket. If Ibra comes, we're in the game. If the deal goes south, we'll be most likely watching another missed season or maybe a EL fight.

But I don't think Suso or Berto should be starter AM's. I think we need someone else to fill up that spot or play without a classic offensive playmaker.

Jackson and Kondogbia over Bacca, Adriano and Bertolacci? Yes for me.

I think we have the better option. Kondogbia is an inferior version of De Jong, and I prefer Adriano over Jackson, never mind even mentioning Bacca.

Nope, I think he will be playing the other CM position tbh. Unless we sign someone else. At least at the start of the season it will most like be De Jong, Monto, Berto in the midfield 3.

If we sign Witsel or someone else, I think they'd take Berto's place before Monto's

@ x-off, don't Genoa play a 3-5-2? It's totally different to play as a CM in that system as opposed to playing one in a 4-3-1-2. For me he's an AM in the Boateng mould. He doesn't really get stuck into the defensive work, isn't particularly creative or has great vision.

He's a good player for a 19 year old, I think he's more someone that we'll sign for the future, I don't think he'll be a starter, at least not next season. However I'd probably bench Poli and Monto for him.

The fact that he was a starter in a Serie A side at 19 says it all. Most clubs would rather play the 30+ year old who's on his last breath than the teenager, especially for a team like Parma that had so many issues last season

Laporte is already stretching the dream as far as it would go imo. Hummels is even more beyond that. I don't think he's even an option that the management is considering at this point

Croatian papers convinced it's a matter of time Perišić signs for Inter. A transfer worth 15 million; I'd say a good job, very good. Inter so far ahead of us in terms of signings.
