This one is the last straw for me. With both the manager and the team.
1: What a ludicrous team selection that was. Yes, it actually played bizarrely well up till El-Sha's brilliant goal, but thereafter it just spontaneously combusted as I fully predicted it would.
2: If Pippo would rather play Bonera at LB rather than a world cup quarter finalist there, I'm done with him.
3: Down to 10 men and we bring on Poli for RB rather than putting MDS back over there and bringing on a world cup quarter finalist LB for LB.
4: Van Ginkel gets 20 seconds on the pitch. How fucking DARE Pippo do that to someone, knowing how vile it was for Allegri to do it to him.
Absolutely disgusted with everything about this team, and its management.
Ratings:
Lopez: 8 Some very good saves, and good kick outs too. Second match in a row he's our best player.
Bonera: 4 One outstanding block in the first half was countered by every other disastrous thing he did, but he didn't select himself.
MDS: 6 Fantastic first half at RB (really good display there, against my better judgement) but then went to pieces as he got shunted over to left.
Rami: 5 Far too loose at the cross for the first goal, and should have conceded at least one penalty. Mediocre.
Mexes: 5 Got himself booked early following a fucking ridiculous tackle after actually a good start, and it stopped him being able to defend with any major vigour thereafter.
Essien: 6 Let's be fair, he actually played ok. Best he's done in a while and didn't cost us any goals.
De Jong: 6 Second meh display (by his standards) in a row from him. Looks like this woeful team is starting to wear him down.
Bona: 6 Hard working and bright in places but his role is unclear.
El-Sha: 7 Stunning goal and worked tirelessly all night. But not enough of an attacking threat apart from the goal. Our best outfield player though and best he's played in some time.
Honda: 4 Barely registered. Inneffectual as increasingly common.
Menez: 1 for the goal. As a tweet I saw tonight summed him up: his PS3 controller doesn't have an X button. He's the most selfish player I've ever seen.
Subs:
Torres: 2 Zip.
Poli: 2 Pointless and stupid sub.
MvG: N/A
Pippo - -10 Inzaghi picked a lousy team, and it defied its own quality to play not bad at all first half till we scored, then it spontaneously combusted thanks to the defence and as Pippo made more idiotic changes it got even worse.
While I disagreed with X on the Juve performance, I have to agree with him now that Pippo is just not Milan manager material. And to do that to MvG where the Milan world condemned Allegri for doing the same to him all those years ago shows he's actually a bit of a pr*ck.
Armero as well must be wondering what he's doing here when his boss would rather pick a crude CH over him at LB, then a DM.
I'm actually speechless by what is happening to my Club.

QUOTE (Danny @ Nov 8 2014, 11:08 PM) Tonight hasn't changed anything?
He scored a great goal, but then Honda's scored several this season and is absolutely gash.
SES had a good game, nothing more. I still don't believe in him till he does it at least once every 3 games, not once every 18 months. We'll see what happens with him, he needed the goal so the pressure could be taken off of him, look at his face after he scored, it was clear as to how much this drought was weighing on him As for his performances in general, imo they're always good, if he's not pulling his weight in the attacking department because of bad form, then he always does his best to be useful to the team, he tracks back, helps out in midfield and generally works his @ss of for the team. For me that's what's important, and it's why I know that with that and his natural talent he will make it. I still don't agree with his positioning as he's not a winger imo, but with that kind of work ethic I'm sure he'll make it It's what convinced me to stick with Abate through these years as well

Agreed with many of your prior comments.
I think it's clear we have a big mentality issue. Something's just wrong with the team. We started off rather well up until SES scored. Then we did what happened before as well - we backed out and invited Sampdoria to attack us. Then after we scored the second goal, we started playing well again. All this indicates we have serious form, consistency and mentality issues.
Am I the only one who thinks Bonera had a good match? The red card he got was in the dying minutes when he was left out wide against a stronger and faster opponent. He was a fullback, which suggests that the main fault lies on Rami/Mexes.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 9 2014, 01:34 AM) Well, you know what I meant... When we went 1 up having dominated play I was on the verge of describing it the performance of the season. We just stopped attacking thereafter and let them back in. Then capitulated totally on conceding a second. If I'm at my most generous I could praise the side for getting a point, but I'm not at my most generous. We blew a good display and a lead and conspired to ruin it - combination of poor play and poor management. Kinda can see what folk mean when they say outwith Roma and Juve this league is actually rather poor. Any side can get third, but not if they blow chances like we did tonight. The only bizarre thing is Inter are even worse than we are. Milan clubs are in a desperately sorry state.

QUOTE (Danny @ Nov 8 2014, 11:56 PM) Words don't always fail me but they do here.
Pippo isn't just out of his depth, he really is turning into a grade A w*nker. Did he really f@cking say that?? Unbelievable! QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Nov 9 2014, 12:56 AM) Agreed with many of your prior comments.

He was a fullback, which suggests that the main fault lies on Rami/Mexes. I think the "plan" when we do take the early lead is to sit back and counter on the opposition, the only problem with that "plan" is that we can't defend even if our lives depended on it For us, sitting on a 1 goal lead atm is pure suicide. The only time this plan worked was against Lazio. We scored early and countered on them, every other game where we took an early lead has been a nightmare so far. You know the goal is coming but for some reason they just don't push for the second, and seem to lose the plot as well, which in turn invites on more pressure, which forces us into making silly mistakes. As for Bonera, he was diabolical!! The first goal was him, not Rami. Okaka was playing on his side all game long and literally turned him inside out. On the first goal Bonera just ran along side him, he just couldn't handle him physically and his positioning was even worse, so not only was his positioning off, he didn't have the physical capacity to recover his bad positioning once Okaka got in behind him (which happened multiple times) Like Danny, I really do feel that we started off with probably some of our best football of the season, but again, we scored early and completely dropped off, the second half was also pretty great imo, it was the first time this season where I really saw us pushing our opposition back deep into their own half and really bombarding them, then Bonera got sent off and we were back on the back foot (naturally)

Both unforgiveable. Knew we weren't getting more than a point. And with those comical subs my case wasn't really weakened.
