I know that seems pretty obvious as we look so shambolic doing it (IMG:

The overall plan seems to be(same as last year) squeeze in the goals one way or another and then hold on to it with all the grit you can muster. I think it makes it really difficult for teams that don't attack as a unit and lack world class attackers.
Anyways, this system is hard to get used to for us AC Milan fans as we are used to seeing Milan take charge of situations instead of let the other team dictate. We even did that against small teams last season.
I actually believe the biggest worry is the lack of pure creativity. A couple players with that play-making genius.
Quick example that I have seen happen over and over again: We win the ball, Mexes passes to Muntari, Muntari passes to El Shaarway and In the final third he hits a wall of defenders so we start making wide passes instead of keeping the momentum to going forward. (You can put in different player names, it's the same scenario)
Agreed, with this.
First off we were playing with Bonera instead of Zapata, Antonini instead of Abate and Constant instead of DS, aside from Mexes that's the second string defensive line. It's not the defence that's the problem but the team as a whole. We just have no strategy when going forward, like you said, it's always the same thing, either pass up through the right side or the left side, get stuck, pass backwards or sideways, repeat. It's seriously tiring to watch this team play.
At least defensively we know how to grind it out (while living on the edge), but attacking wise it's either punt it to the CF or just try to give it to SES, see what he can do with it, our midfield is still just not good enough and this is the main reason why we suffer so much. In the second half when Poli and De Jong were taken off we literally fell apart, because those 2 are the only good players we have in midfield atm with Monto not being called up.
Also, the fact that we play with Prince as our "creative" outlet is just a huge problem, I really don't want to see him wasted for another season playing behind the strikers or on the wing, he needs to be in midfield.
Something else I noticed, especially when Robinho came off, we can't seem to keep our shape, once Urby came on for him we got back to a very wide 4-3-3 and we just lost the momentum we had at the beginning
