I was so angry with our players before Pato closed the match. Winning 2-0 and with a man advantage, and being so close to gifting the game to the opposition is unacceptable stuff.

By the way, am I the only one who saw Pato touching his thigh and limping off at the end of the match? Another injury?

Yes, we did - years ago. At this moment, Abate is better then DS. When DS gains experience and Tassotti learns him a trick or two, he should be better.

This is Patos second overall, right?

About a month ago gainst Palermo, his arm was wide open in the penalty area and Miccolli won a penalty by aiming at his arm. yeah right, years ago. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Something happened to him in a challenge, I mentioned it. surprised that he continued to play for ~10 minutes. hope he didn't aggravate whatever it is.

He usually immediately signals when it's the usual injury. He never stays on when he feels even a twinge. So hopefully it was a knock. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't risk aggrevating anything after the injury histroy he has

Happy about the result but sloppy performance. The possession stats say it all; we couldn't keep possession, can't even pass properly. Good to see Pato scoring his second overall, El Sharaawy adds to his tally and a jaw-dropping goal by Mexes.

But the way he grabbed his thigh in that challenge was scarily familiar. we've seen that many times before. I expect a couple of weeks out tbh.

Glad we made it. Poor side in a poor group - we travelled to Belgium and got our second win of the CL campaign - didn't have to play that well to secure passage.

Mexes with a staggering goal - I wonder if Ash et al will give that credit because there was no goalkeeping error...

I highly doubt we'll make the last 8 but let's hope the winner we play will be a favourable one.

PS: if you think Allegri is bad, with City desperately needing a goal Mancini removed Aguero and replaced with Milner. Mancini will surely be fired soon. His CL exploits and EL endeavours have been embarrassing.

Different thing. Abate makes mistakes, he has a certain tendency - just look at his Milito encounters. But DS was on another level of bad, he literary watched as a bystander, and not just in one occasion, but a whole period he simply lost interest in defending. Obviously a lack of concentration.

I'm really glad for this win so don't get me wrong....but we could PLAY soooo much better. Just like we are at the mercy of individual mistakes for losses we are dependant on individual brilliance for the goals. The TEAM play = 0

Anyway if this is some indication of a system on Allegri's part I'm all for it...but I've seen him stumble on winning formulae only to completely change them the very next match

The guy's freakin' 20 and has barely played a dozen games so far. that, my friend, is the big difference. but look at his inch-perfect cross on SeS's goal tonight, how often does Abate do that?

We're not defensively stable, which makes Abates defensive characteristics and experience more needy in this context.

I know he's a kid, that's why I said - he has talent, and maybe one day he'll be ready to take Abates place. This mess however isn't the time. Like han told earlier, we cannot push the kid and watch him burn. And eventually this is what will happen when you have a desolate defense like we have now.

It was a far better goal than Zlatans.

Indeed. The goalie couldn't do anything, and there was much less space for making even an attempt, let alone hitting the target and scoring. Brilliant goal. Top, top. We must remember this one.
