QUOTE (Jack Bauer @ Nov 14 2012, 01:29 AM) Or guys named Yepes abd Acerbi (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ? And no, I won't say it's good news. I was never happy for someone getting injured, not even for the atrocious Bonera.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 14 2012, 03:41 AM) It's not about being happy, it's about if it's either good or bad for the team. And I'd say Bonera out is good. It's called schadenfreude - and I try to avoid it. I know your rationalization is fair, but it's really only a rationalization. QUOTE (Jack Bauer @ Nov 14 2012, 03:47 AM) Just because Bonera is out, doesn't automatically mean Zapata will play instead. Seems like Allegri doesn't like him too much. I see. Good point.

The thing is I've seen coaches often play an 'inferior' (in terms of skill) player just because the player is far more experienced and more likely to implement the game plan than the skilful one. It's very common in Italy especially.
Rarely you have a player like Paolo or Sandro who are brilliant players and can play the teamgame at the same time.
And I guess this is where Bonera comes in. He is a very classical Italian defender .The problem of course is Bonera functions best as one person in a unified defensive unit where he can perform very well indeed. If Bonera were to be paired with a peak-level Nesta or even Silva it would be a different proposition.
At the moment, the whole team is disorganized and in shambles and what we need is a really great defender who can cover the cracks. Bonera can't do that.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Nov 15 2012, 08:50 AM) I'm sorry for Bonera being hurt, but this is good news for us on a technical level. now if Allegri still refuses to play Zapata and opts for an inferior version of Bonera (Acerbi) then... I don't know. or if he plays the 36yo Yepes "every 3 days" (to quote his words), he's a complete hypocrite. we'll see. Yes, we'll see, but considering his track record I wouldn't be surprised to see the latter 2 options you put forward

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 15 2012, 02:43 PM) MilanNews reports that one between Zapata and Acerbi might be sold in January. I understand why they'd want to get rid of Hitler Jr, but Zapata? Has he really been that bad? Cause as far as I can tell, he's been our most consistent CB for that much time he's played. How can Zapata be sold if he's on loan? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Lazy journalism at it's best

Maybe sold is a bad expression. But rather leave.
I don't know. I really think Zapata deserves a fair chance.
