As we have seen over the years in such summer tournaments, it doesn't really matter what a player shows over the season when it comes to starting in these games, they mostly effect who is picked for the squad, but when it comes to the actual team starting most picks are made based on what the coach thinks is best for the game and who suites the formation and tactical set-up.

Prandelli seem to be leaning towards a 3 man attack which includes Cassano, Rossi and a pure striker, he's mostly experimented with who should spear-head the attack but Cassano and Rossi are the constants. At least this is the impression I get from the recent friendlies and qualifiers.

Whether Cassano plays a lot or not, he'll most likely be in that team sheet come summer, who is he going to play in his position should he drop him?

If either one of them refuses to play then that is when sh!t will hit the fan, because both know that playing in those games will diminish their chances of leaving

On the other side though, Wenger must seriously think this through, if both players are still adament about leaving, then them being cup tied will effect their price. Being stuck with players who don't want to be there is not what he needs

Are you sure about that? In the last friendlies, Prandelli has always played with a 4-3-1-2 line-up, Montolivo being the trequartista. That's how he'll play tomorrow against Spain as well. That means one spot will be taken by Rossi for sure. The other spot will be a fight between Cassano, Balotelli, Pazzini, Matri etc.

Cassano should stay no matter who we bring in for the left midfield position. Like many have said, we'll be left relying on Ibra alone if Robinho keeps missing chances and Pato's injuries. In any case, I think Cassano and Ibra actually compliment each other. I'd be sad if he leaves to be honest because he's got huge talent and his only problem is his weight and fitness which is something that can be worked on.

I'm actually keen to see how El Shaarawy performs with Milan, I hope we have acquired the next big thing in Italy in this kid. Though I'm quite certain he'll be loaned out this season.
