QUOTE Sorry bud, have to disagree, no player, regardless of position should be "untouchable". I have rated Amelia highly for a few years now, i am delighted we have him, but, we should use him much much more. No, but I don't see why Abbiati should be replaced? I agree with the other stuff, but a keeper is different. Naturally, Abbiati is not untouchable, but he has to make some mistakes first to loose his status. Or Amelia has to be magnificent, like Dida was. QUOTE Yes they have a new look to them, but the coach who is sitting in our dressing room should be able to at least figure things out, what's coming to him. Leo may not have done it too well, but Allegri has no excuses. Whatsoever. 1st year versus what 7th year for Allegri? Agreed. Both were inexperienced in their own way. Both are mistake I'm afraid. Now, get us Rijkaard.

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Oct 20 2010, 05:23 AM) No, but I don't see why Abbiati should be replaced? I agree with the other stuff, but a keeper is different. Naturally, Abbiati is not untouchable, but he has to make some mistakes first to loose his status. Or Amelia has to be magnificent, like Dida was. I'm with you on this. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Amelia did make the best of what he had when called upon, job well done. The only reason I see him taking first place is 1) If Abbiati fails to make it back for a few weeks, or 2) Abbiati's form goes belly-up again, and he starts making mistakes that cost us a match or two (which he did make every now and then, these past few months). If Abb's back in the next match, then he should start. Mr. Baldie did nothing wrong to lose his spot, and frankly there were a few good saves in the last Serie A match or two. He should get the nod, but Amelia impressed me the world today - we'd probably be staring at a 5-0 defeat if not for some quality stops by him. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Oct 20 2010, 05:23 AM) Agreed. Both were inexperienced in their own way. Both are mistake I'm afraid. Now, get us Rijkaard. True. As much as I hate to say this, but Allegri Leonardo'd us today! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Going in with the same mindset and hoping for the best is not the way forward, there should be a few adjustments, a tinkering or two inside the team for clashes of this importance. Maybe he is not the right man to lead a 100 million dollar squad, still has tons to learn. The thing with him is that he makes changes after matches, rarely have I seen him jolt things up during them. Plus no faith in youth, again, and we are back to square one. Or at least getting there, unless he turns things around. Senor Rijkaard? Why not?! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Either him or someone similar in stature. Or experience. Or brain power.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 20 2010, 06:26 AM) I'm seriously hoping Allegri starts this line-up against Napoli. Ah, that dreaded word again! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) For better or for worse this is about the only thing a fan can do (other than watch the diarrhea dump that is going on with the Milan team. Seriously though you guys ought to either bold, italicize, or underline every time you write the word hope - or any of its derivatives: Hope this, hope that; hope this doesn't happen, hope that happens; hope we win, hope we save face; hope it's not 4-0 against us, hope it's not 6-0; hope Seedorf doesn't play, hopefully Ronaldinho shows up; hopefully Robinho does not miss a sitter; hopefully Pato - wait for it - finally gets a chance to score a hatrick; let's hope someone last the season, let's hope someone lasts the match; hopefully it is not the dreaded 4-3-3, hopefully it's not Bonera at RB; here's hoping Inzaghi gets a chance, there's hoping that there won't be a 10-point gap between us and inter come the derby; speaking of inter let's hope they drop points, HECK LET'S QUOTE UNQUOTE HOPE ALLEGRI USES HIS BRAIN CELLS AND MAKES THE RIGHT SUBSTITUTIONS. Bah, it's time to face the facts: Good teams (or at least those managed by a good manager) do not need much hope. They make their own way, have their own game plans, lead their own path, and end their seasons in control. In short make their own destiny, darn it. E-a-r-n, that's earn - not hope for a Scudetto. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I myself have been writing the word "hope" far too much ever since the start of the season. FACT. And I am short on time, but very much willing to analyze the various posts of different members and get the accurate statistics here on Milanfan forums, but I see everyone using the word much more than it deserves to be: Han, Zed.D, Fillipo pretty much every other member. More so since last season (or the ones before that). It's like everyone from the donkeys in the management room to the coach and most players squad don't want to do anything, just hope for the best, and things to work out in their favor. Don't get me wrong, nothing against the word (I'm the resident English language police for crying out loud), or the meaning of it. But hope should be kept at the minimum require level. The rest of the bar should be filled with hard work, tactical thinking, effective and man management, attackers helping out with the defense, defenders helping out with the attack, and dare I say it, slotting in the right player at the right moment in time during a match. Most of Allegri's subs have been miles off the mark - wrong player at the wrong time. We are near the top of the table, but no one should forget that a good portion of out tough matches are coming soon. Negatives result in them and the derby, and we could be looking at another 10-point gap from the top perch. Point I am making is that less talk, more action, bunny boys (Allegri and the squad). (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It is impossible to expect much sanity from B&G but the team and coach should know better. They are the variables, all of them could change if they keep this up. Today's match was one of the worst I've ever seen, not in terms of quality of play from Milan, but the way the team carried themselves on the pitch. Frankly, Lazio/Parma would have done better. At least they would have defended. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) The Milan players (apart from Amelia) were looking like kids, not a hint of leadership whatsoever, not an inch of gameplan, everyone was just going through the motions. Not a thing called coherence. At all. New coach and all, new faces in the squad, but there should at least be sings of gelling together. And planning each match. Thoughtful planning. Fact is Milan as a club will have to make a decision to take things into their own hands soon. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) Hopefully they do!

QUOTE (han2503 @ Oct 19 2010, 03:32 PM) Sure, but had Seedorf not shifted from the wall the ball would have cannoned off. 2 freak goals!! +1 QUOTE (Zed.D @ Oct 19 2010, 03:35 PM) Yeah the SO EXPERIENCED Seedorf did terribly there. at least you can attribute Pato's foul to his inexperience. and then the hugely experienced same Seedorf wasted out best chance with that unnecessarily powerful shot. a simple finish would've given us a goal. +1 QUOTE (William405 @ Oct 19 2010, 03:36 PM) Bonera is horrible did I mention that...
Cesare Maldini said on Al Jazeera 3forewards+Seedorf:It can't work in any team in the world(psssss he's right). (IMG: style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) ??!? QUOTE (Zed.D @ Oct 19 2010, 03:37 PM) It's ridiculous how easily the ball went in 2 times. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) QUOTE (Zed.D @ Oct 19 2010, 03:41 PM) Football never works like that. if Pirlo's FK had went in, the game would have completely changed its direction. maybe in our favor and more possibly in Madrid's. +1 QUOTE (Zed.D @ Oct 19 2010, 03:47 PM) Definitely. although we only had 1 good chance through Zee. Pirlo's FK was as good as it gets so no wasted chance there +1 QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Oct 19 2010, 04:58 PM) Ratings: Inzaghi(.) - didn't do anything/came in too late. Funny thing is that he actually nearly made a goal for Ibra before Arbeloa made a crucial tackle. QUOTE (Portman @ Oct 19 2010, 07:43 PM) 1. Madrid has the best squad in the world 2. A balanced squad, maybe only lacking a proper finisher (Higuain is just average) 3. We do not have a balanced squad 4. Madrid has the best coach in the world - no other coach can motivate a team better than him 5. Milan have made some mistakes and since Carletto left, we do not have a proven, quality and proper coach 6. We'll get 2nd place but we'll get knocked out in early stages 7. Concentrate on Scudetto
8. Hey guys. Howdy? Agreed on everything with the exception of #6 - Not quite sure how it will go for us yet, either it gets worse, or if we manage to grind it out until Winter and then (cross fingers) we make needed buys for positions such as WB, CM & AM. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Who am I kidding... We are probably 'fine as we are' with a 'team of champions' ... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) --- (IMG: style_emoticons/default/puke.gif) Still good to see your posts now and again. A harsh reality is sometimes needed to be. QUOTE Tuesday 19 October, 2010
Allegri: 'We weren't arrogant enough' Massimiliano Allegri insists Milan “should’ve been more arrogant” against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
The Rossoneri were beaten 2-0 at the Bernabeu when Cristiano Ronaldo’s free kick and a deflected Mesut Ozil effort scored in the space of a minute.
“It was a bad day at the office, not taking anything away from a world class side like Real Madrid,” said the Coach.
“But it’s without doubt the game changed after a 90-second spell in which the wall opened and there was a deflection.
“We were a bit sluggish at times, but really started playing after the second goal and had some great chances.
“I don’t think we should be at all depressed after this defeat – quite the opposite. We must above all analyse the good spells.
“We should look at the lack of grit and determination in some of our games, as that was missing again tonight.
“This evening we had the space to play the right way, with angled balls, but we didn’t do that and for the opening 15 minutes gave the ball away cheaply, allowing Real to pin us back.
“After the goals we started playing pretty well, spreading the play and so I think Madrid earned this victory and we also helped them to get it.
“We have great quality and technique, so should’ve been more arrogant and pushed harder at the Bernabeu. Basically we got the initial approach wrong.” Football Italia - Allegri: We weren't arrogant enough

We need a coach that gets affected personally when milan lose; we need a coach who is willing to put everything on the line to succeed. I think there is a difference between having Milan in your blood and putting it all on the line to succeed. For instance... Hypothetically speaking - If Mourinho was our coach I won't say he has Milan in his blood, but like we have seen before he will put it all on the line. I'm not saying that you meant they were the same, just felt I should decipher that there is a difference.

QUOTE Tuesday 19 October, 2010
Mourinho: 'Too fast for Milan' Jose Mourinho says he has “changed the psychological” state of Real Madrid and they railroaded Milan.
“I always expect a difficult game, but it seems to me that we started with a fantastic approach that was just too fast for Milan. We scored two quickly and could’ve got a third,” he said of the 2-0 win.
“It was a test of intelligence for my team to know how to handle the situation and the tempo.
“These are three valuable points for a very young side against a Milan outfit with immense experience.
“The team is working well and improving. The names may suggest they are not great professionals, but the so-called Galacticos are hard-workers who know they have to put the effort in.
“Right now the psychological aspect is crucial for me and they seem a completely different side to last season.”
The former Inter Coach also had a message for the other side of San Siro.
“It’s not a derby, as I always had a very positive rapport with Milan, their players and directors. There was always great respect.
“Besides, I think Inter are a step ahead. In previous years the Interisti might’ve been happy at seeing Milan lose, but now they are European Champions, so they don’t care. They’re on another level.”
Mourinho had many clashes with the media in Italy and confessed he was glad this post-match talk was unique.
“Do I miss Italy? Well…. I do watch the Serie A games, but as for my work… No interviews, just five minutes of Press conference and I go home. I certainly enjoy that more!” Football Italia - Mourinho: Too fast for Milan
