Agreed. Why did they leave Puyol on the bench and play Mascherano in the center? Was he injured previously and wasn't fit enough? It's not really logical. When Man U were trying to catch them out with the long ball to Rooney in the first 10 minutes, it really put the Barca defense under pressure and I could see a couple of blunders happening

Agreed on both counts. especially your point that this Barca are a great defensive wall away from being absolutely perfect. but maybe they don't need it that much after all, considering how dominant they are even in a CL final against the EPL champions.

I still say the starting midfield did it for them. Personally I feel that Valencia is currently one of the most over-hyped Man U players out there next to th Chicharito, all he does is run in straight lines at great pace. And where was Hernandez tonight? All he did was get caught offside.

Rooney and the CBs for Man U were the ones that truely showed up imo, the rest just weren't good enough

Agreed about the midfield. Carrick and Valenica were invisible, Giggs tried but his age is a large obstacle against such a fast side like Barcelona. Park was the only one who showed up and gave Barça's midfielders a hard time, but he wasn't enough. Fergie should have played it safe, with five midfielders and Rooney as only striker. Only that way they could have stood a chance against the blaugrana.

We've just won the league, we're in a good position overall, signing new players. We're in one of the best places to genuinely challenge Barca.

Mhm, I still think there are a few clubs that can tackle them. I'd like to see them play against FC Bayern (even without Louis van Gaal) or Real, with Mourinho in year 2. Also, Chelsea, Milan, Arsenal, even Porto will be there as well. It won't be that easy; eventually their decline is sealed - Iniesta and Xavi are both a bit injury prone, and when they fall out Barcelona get's into problems.

Barcelona can be defeated with the right midfield-defense coordination. Ferguson did not have the needed players. Milan also does not have the needed ones, or do you think Flamini, Rino, Ambro and Bommel can do the trick?
IMO Ancelotti's Chelsea could have easily caused Barcelona more trouble in the final game then Manchester. But well...

A top class creator needs to be brought in, as well as a proper attacking midfielder, also, we cannot keep playing with Rino in that midfield, he'a a liability, but semingly he can do no wrong in Allegri's eyes.

Also ridiculous. We cannot realy on the front 3 for creativity, it would just end up with the CBs punting the ball at Ibra. Just like what we were doing when Pirlo was injured and Seedorf was playing like cr@p and had to play a midfield of Rino, Ambro and Flamini! Oh my!! That won't win us anything, I can assure you.

We need someone who will create chances from the midfield, Allegri is trying to turn this team into something only he can envision, and yes he has the Scudetto to back that up, but I don't feel it's enough. He failed us in both cup competitions, competition where you simply cannot rely on punting it to Ibra and hoping to pull out a 1-0 most of the time
