He was still performing at pretty high levels at 34 years old. Maybe not 40m level performances but we can still get 2 years of worldclass-ness out of him at least. Flamini won't leave...I'm willing to put money it. -- In regards to Ibra, yes 40m is a lot but silvio is paying the majority of it so why are we so unhappy about it. Its ibra or nothing. Time will tell... but mostly... if we win CL's and Scudetto's in the next few seasons it's worth it... if we won't win anything... it isn't worth it at all... because we spend some crazy money on both his transfer sum and his wages in the few seasons.

I understand where your coming from but isn't it better than spending small amounts of money on players like Hunt/gila/oli and hoping to strike gold rather than paying the cash and knowing you will get a serie A proven player? The thing about Ibra is that while playing with Dinho/Pato is nice, he doesn't need them to be able to score, which is something that can't be said about our strikers. Some more news on the topic:
When negotations began early: Barca demanded 40m plus pirlo or thiago silva. Galliani said no. Then Barca said 20m plus Pato. Galliani said no players will leave milan in exchange. Then they somehow agreed a deal, terms are reported to be 40m cash.... -La Gazetta is reporting that the deal is close to finalizing and it will be announced soon.
