QUOTE (Fishdoll @ Jul 29 2010, 10:53 PM) *
Pippo was treated very poorly by Leo last year, had no continuity. And he did score good goals too. I think you're focusing too much on the negatives and really could do without another rehash of the 'Pippo is useless' argument.

Let's just say we disagree on this one.

Well I don't know what you expected Leo to do, drop Boriello to give Pippo a chance? Pippo knows what his position is on the team, he's a rotation player and he seems to be more then happy with it seeing as he signed the contract.

Leo gave him some continuity at the beginning of last season, but when Pippo started to miss sitters and it was obvious that Boriello suited the foromation far more then Pippo did he dropped him.

He had Huntelaar too, so he wasn't going to sub in Pippo every time and leave Hunter with barely any playing time.

Also Pippo used to have long spells out in the past, but when he came back he came back strong and scoring 2 goals per game, I don't really think it effects him that much whether he's consistantly being played or not. I remember once Carlo said that Gila needed to start from the beginning of a game to be effective while Pippo could come on in the last 5 minutes and still win you a match, that's because his entire game is based on instinct. Which he still has imo but his finishing has gone down the drain

IMO Huntelaar, not Inzaghi, was treated very poorly by Leonardo. Inzaghi often got a chance over Huntelaar, while it should have been the opposite. Inzaghi treated very poorly by Leonardo? No way. Playing him more often than done last season would have been a crime.

. Anyway, the DM position is the least of our problems as Flamini is still young.

..See how we've been duped by the management?? he is 26!!! this imo should be Milan's average age given the nature of soccer nowadays..things have changed..football now requires speed, faster movement of the ball..the pirlos and seedorfs can't hack it..i hope i'll be proven right in the emirates cup..just remember how scary (and embarrassing) it was last season when teams were launching counters against us..gosh!

Generally as a player nowadays, at 20 you need to make a name for yourself..hit peak at 23-27...

It is worrying when a 26-year old is considered 'young'. That's about prime age, like you say, it's nearer what our average age should be, around 26-28.

Well that is the reality Flamini is young, Pato is a baby. When aside from a few players are 30 and over that is what happens

QUOTE
Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri would like to sign another central midfielder before the end of the transfer window, but insists he's happy with his squad.

Speaking ahead of Milan's participation in the Emirates Cup, Allegri was asked about his recruitment strategy.

“What we have is fine,” he said. “If someone leaves then someone else will arrive, but right now the squad is fine.

“We speak every day with Galliani. Seeing that we'll be playing with three in central midfield, we'll need at least six players in that position.

“I am convinced that the club will bring home a good player.”

When asked if he intends to raid former club Cagliari for Andrea Lazzari, Allegri was coy in his response.

“It will take a dynamic player,” he said.

Allegri then looked ahead to tomorrow's game against Arsenal.

“We will try to do good things even if we have only been training for 10 days and we are missing some players. But I am convinced that we'll do good things.

“I am not worried. Ronaldinho has stayed at home to work and get into a good condition for the start of the season.

“He is a very important player. He has great technical qualities, so we'll need to try and protect him when he isn't well.”

I know by now you guys probably think that I'm on VDV payroll as a promoter, but it should be noted that although Ronaldo returned from vacation early to travel with the team to the US, VDV did not. Nor did Kaka.
