Jack you've always said we're in transition. We've been in transition for 4 years now!!

Anyways talk is talk. I think you're way off here. And the best thing we'll see out of Milan in a couple of years time is hopefully the door hitting Silvio and his little henchman on the @ss on the way out. And that will be a beautiful day!

So, about the transfer rumors of today.

This fish wouldn't mind Angelo Palombo at all -- but it's probably fantamercato as Samp probably isn't too likely to let their captain go.

Same. Anyway, Samp wouldn't be the problem in this story but more Milan.

We really need another mid for next season. And I can't see anyone coming, if either Seedorf or Pirlo get injured we're in deep sh!t

Guys maybe Jack's right. We are waiting something big to happen (release old players, buy young players, buy big names ... ) this is revulution , right ?

Milan is day after day releasing the old players first Stam, Rui Costa, Cafu, Serginho, Maldini, Favalli, Dida ... this continues. We kept promoting and buying young players like Abate, Antonini, Strasser, Adiyiah, Zigoni ... this continues too. We also bought big&young players like Kaka (sold), Pato, Huntelaar (suposed to be a young star), Papastathopulos ... this is evolution.

If Jack wants to say Milan is evolution-ing he's right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I doubt renewing the contracts of Oddo, Gattuso and Seedorf constitutes anyhow evolution.

Renewing contracts with Seedorf, Gattuso, Pirlo , Zambrotta and Abbiati is good deal and when their time will come they will say bye bye. They have still something to give for club ...

btw I don't want to hear about Oddo. He's just a piece of cr@p but after he accepted drastic pay cut I'm pleasted with his renewation, anyway he will not be used ...

Exactly. We're not evolution-ing as you say, we're plugging holes.

Look at Milan as on old ship, at first there was 1 small hole, we plugged that, everything was still ok because the ship in general was still in great condition aside from that miniscule hole that was plugged. But after that hole was plugged other holes began to appear from every which way and instead of fixing the ship properly the management are trying to plug gaping holes with tissue paper.

That is what's happening.

Our management have gone way off the deep end, they've made bad deals (Gourcuff), bought over priced worthless players (Oliveira) and ended up losing millions because they failed. Are spending a lot of money on young players, young players that if we're lucky we'll get to see maximum 2 make it anywhere near the first team bench in a couple of years. It's not true we're looking to rebuild with youth, if that were the case, Paloschi would be a Milan player and Pippo wouldn't have had his contract renewed, same thing with Albertazzi and keeping Oddo and Janku on.

Except that our problem isn't a bunch of past-their-bests on huge salaries we can't get rid of.

All I can say on the matter (I'm not an expert on AC milan or Calcio in general), is that if this indeed is the revolution that will herald a new era... don't expect the new era to be anything like 1988-1995 or 2003-2007.
By the look of it, you're headed for another couple of mediocre seasons.

It isn't, but Jack wants us to head the Arsenal direction, every year it's a revolving door of top players going out and starting again to make men out of boys, thus no titles. Sorry but I don't see this as a solution to our problems.

Sorry the word didn't come out right. But I know what you meant, that we're evolving by taking out the old bit by bit and introducing the new.

But imo that's not what is happening. Sure the fringe players are changing but the core of this team has been the same for over 7 years now, imo that is where the evolution needs to take place not replacing Favalli with Yepes for example, where is the Seedorf replacement, someone with equal quality that can come in and make immediate impact, Seedorf is 34, he can't be a starter until he's 50, which is what the management seem intent on doing at this rate. What will happen when Pirlo just cannot keep up anymore, when Dinho leaves next summer? When the inevitable sale of Pato happens, or when Nesta retires?

These are all big questions hanging over our heads, because all the guys I mentioned are what make the backbone of this team, and the management are unwilling to replace them with players of the same calibre. Next summer will be a big problem for us and imo it will make or brake us. A CL team or a mid table team.

Well if it is then it's a pretty stationary one. All this "We've bought some young players, we're evolving!"-stuff just isn't working. You were supposed to take a step forward with Gourcuff, look at how that worked out.
And yesterday, Galliani said he thought more signings was an "unlikely" prospect... so, you start out targetting Dzeko, you en up bringing in Papaunpronouncable, Yepes and Amelia. Not bad players, but not the names you'd associate with AC Milan.
The changes seen this summer doesn't actually change much at all, every year the core of the team continue to decline, and there's no replacements on the horizon. Ambrosini himself even warned of the dangers of this himself some days ago.

Yepes camed as free transfer and it's perfect backup for Silva/Nesta. Silva was replacment for Maldini, Papastathopulos is backup for Nesta and probably will play as right back. Yepes and Onyewu camed becouse Bonera/Kaladze wasn't working and were not reliable.
In our new formation Seedorf will be backup for Ronaldinho. Seedorf is still in good shape. He can play as backup or sometimes starter for 1/2 seasons and than retires in some team in Holand. Pirlo is still good and we already bought Fossati as his replacmet when he'll retire or can't do good anymore. Verdi is good winger and is possible replacmet of Ronaldinho. Also Utuamandi is showing great quality. When we sell Pato we'll buy another Brazilian probably Neymar or someone like him... Like I said Papastathopulos has potential to be as good as Nesta is/was last years. We have Strasser too , he'll replace Ambrosini or Gattuso soon. Paloschi will arrive in the same moment Inzaghi goes. If not this year, next year Dzeko is ours. We have great team.

I must admit Gorucuff's sale pissed me off more than Kaka's sale. He is/was talent and he is showing it in France. The problem is that we didn't treat him very good so he didn't want to come back in Milan from loan. You know that Yepes camed only as backup and free transfer. Amelia is good and perfect replacment for Dida. Papastathopulos is one of the biggest talent's in Italy last years and he will replace Nesta. IMO we have good youngers in our squad and in primavera's section that can take this club forward. I'm not saying that all of them have quality to take a first team place but some of them are very good. Maybe we will have to wait for 2-3 more years so they'll grow up, and during that time we have our champions getting older and someday ready to retire or leave the club.
