In terms of how they perform for Milan? Yes, I think there is.

Why ? Is there that much difference between them ?

Yes.

New forward in, Huntelaar out, is what I prefer.

That's not the issue. Both are capable of scoring goals, both are capable of also disappoint in it, Huntelaar SHOULD be the better scorer, but football is more than just that. The issue is, Huntelaar doesn't link up well with his teammates as Borriello did, at least I haven't seen Huntelaar doing this properly in Serie A. Borriello is the better worker, teamplayer, helping in defense, etc. All important aspects of the game, and important notice with Pato on a wing, you don't have a poacher like Huntelaar waiting to score goals, you rather want Borriello who helps getting Pato involved in the attack and help HIM score. It's kinda a shame Pato has to play wide, he is our best striker by far.

Both you can call either average or decent striker, but both aren't even close to world class (like Pato is), but at least with Borriello our attacks works well, so we had a good forward with Ronaldinho, Borriello and Pato.

As much as we're supposed to hate the gobbi, I can't blame Storari in the slightest for going to Juve. I'd have been livid if I were in his shoes and heard the news that we'd signed Amelia on loan. (And to think that, months ago, someone chose to mock my comment about Galliani declaring Abi the future GK of this club.)

So, here's our GK lineup for next season: Amelia, Abbiati and Roma. We won't exactly be keeping other Serie A offenses up nights.

...you are right, but the final result is Borriello scores more then Huntelaar, so I think it's the final issue too.

I agree. And Juve are not Inter. Juve are offering him a starting spot, while we rather choose Abbiati who failed this season to keep his starting spot (those few games). I'm not sure, but I think Amelia came in the picture after Milan couldn't resist taking the 5M from Juve for Storari.

Or more important, the team scores more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

are those really THAT bad for 1st and 2nd choice options? i honestly only seen amelia the few times he's played us and in those matches he's looked like a top keeper.

Striker Debate: Fabiano vs. our current crop
He's more athletic and mobile than Huntelaar, while equally if not more clinical. Where Borriello just runs and bangs around in attack, holding up play for as long as he can until someone rescues him from wherever he is on the pitch, Fabiano takes up really intelligent positions. He either drops back a little bit to play quick one-twos to assist midfield in coming forward, OR makes space-making runs that either allow our midfielders a passing option of space to exploit.

I think that if one were to compare the three: Fabiano strikes me as the most dangerous. Borriello is a bit inefficient in his touches and finishes. Huntelaar is a bit non-existant with his touches, and a bit of a wild card (sometimes clinical, sometimes amateur). Fabiano is a goal shark - athletic, worker, clinical. He also plays with a fire for scoring, something i haven't been able to tangibly see from Hunter. Keepers are more scared of fabiano than they are the other two. Just my reading of the game.

If we end up with Luis Fabiano as our new striker, it should be Huntelaar out for sure. Huntelaar can only score goals really, while both Luis Fabiano and Pato are way better in this. Borriello can be useful while he is strong and a good teamplayer.

Fabiano for 10m is a worldclass deal. He really is twice the striker of hunt and borri.

Can't see us getting Fabiano for that, they may not even sell to us. Didn't we make a rather insulting offer for him last summer or something?

vnata: For all the griping about Dida in this department, Amelia is regularly dogged by inconsistency, which has prevented him from joining the elite and therefore getting more call-ups from Italy. If he were all that, he wouldn't be playing the role of journeyman over the past 4-5 seasons. He'll have many good moments mixed in with not-so-good ones. Plus, he tends to shoot his mouth off when things go bad. That's what got him eventually booted out of Livorno.

I'm not saying he's the scum of the earth, but why Galliani signed him and let Storari walk has me scratching my head.

It might be a 'respect' thing with Storari. We treat him like gold when the rest of the people are out of action, yet he's the first item to be hawked on the market, when we're done with our purpose. Abbiati had a similar problem I think.

I'd rather do a Storari+ cash for Giovinco. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Excellent post.

In our current situation, I'd be happy with us signing only Otamendi, Lazzari and Fabiano, along with Yepes and Amelia. We have to face reality, we can't afford players like Dzeko and co.

Thats why Huntelaar could be sold for 18 m and Boriello for 20m .
Huntelaar for Fabiano plus there's 8 m left. how can you say no to that?
I like the way Pato and Dinho works togther and Bori is understanding it and starting to work with Dinho too while Huntelaar is standing at the other side of the field, Fabiano would probably understand that too, not just because they are brazilian. He knows how he wants the ball and how he can place it for somebody else.
