Fishdoll suspect he might just, based on his U20 performance -- but the thing is, for the U20s, he plays in the middle. Only time Fishdoll has seen him at LB was over a year ago. The ptoential was VERY clear but he looked so skinny that even Pippo could break him in two.

QUOTE (il_diavolo_mtl @ Oct 2 2009, 12:36 AM) and That is what separates us from barca, they always have a guy waiting in he wings when someone gets to old. Last i checked, the formula is working for them... The problem is: Barca's youth academy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Milan's youth academy (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) No disrespect to our better youth players but they're nowhere near the likes of Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, Pedro! etc. (obviously). I don't think even given the chance they can be, because we're talking about two very different systems/philosophies. EDIT: it's like comparing Hyundai with Mercedes. even if the former makes very good cars (like Genesis) it simply cannot be like the latter.

Barca went the youth route for the same reason we have to...because they/we're skint. Now for a few seasons a few of us have campioned the primavera cause, now in Leo's postion (no money, unmotivated players etc) and bearing in mind his last job (scout) he should be able to spot a youth player that has the technical ability to fit into this Leo "system" that has yet to become apparant. So to me this is a ideal time to try these younger players after all he couldn't be in a deeper mess so he has nothing to lose (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

In his defense, he did bring in Abate who Fishdoll at least wants to see as a regular starter. Hasn't always had stellar games (he got pwned for much of milan-bari) but is improving as a RB and is really giving it all out there.

QUOTE Arsenal Star Cesc Fabregas: I Love Milan & San Siro
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas would prefer to win the Premier League over the Champions League as he reveals his penchant for Italian football.
Fabregas is well aware that not everything turns to gold, but he is desperate to win the Premier League.
"I want to win the Premier more than the Champions League," Fabregas told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"Four years without a trophy is too long. We are young players, but we are growing up fast."
So fast in fact, that the Spanish international believes this is the season where glory days will be seen again at the Emirates.
"We all believe that this will be our year," added the midfielder.
Fabregas then turned his attention to Italian football, and while the Emirates stadium is seen as a masterpiece, the Spaniard is in love with the San Siro.
"I like Serie A a lot. I like playing against Italian teams as they play is similar to Spanish football. Technique, and winning tactics," added Fabregas.
"I love the San Siro. It has seduced me, it's imposing and extraordinary." (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) You mean you love camp nou, please don't tease us. We are not emotionally stable and may hang on your words like they were written on stone.

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Oct 2 2009, 07:27 PM) Its hard to just bring in the youth, we have very few players who are able to play at Serie A level. Albertazzi/darmian/zigoni/baretta/di gennaro/paloschi
Barcelona have at least 90% of their youth team who can come in and play. They have a guy named Gai assulin who is 16 and is already as good as pato.
We just don't have that. Our youth system needs new buildings/structures/ better coaches and they need to have the chance to play games like coppa. i'm sure we've got competent young players even before we sign/re-signed the ones u'v mentioned. its the whole club structure that's faulty. last season guardiola handed Sergio Busquet a chance as a midfield deputy, he took the chance and never looked back, establishing himself in the team..also getting to play in the ECL semis&final.. he's also always included in the national squad these days(all within a year) how will our youth thrive when galliani keeps handing new contracts to favalli, cancelling out viudez&cardaccio cos they Will get no playing time, even flamini still struggles to hold down a starting spot i don't see barca sendin out legions on loans&co-ownerships... we seriously need a change

I would love for Cesc to be within our squad!!
