I don't see why we don't try to go for Alex he is barely getting playing time with chelsea and he is a very good defender, hes big like gooch execpt he can defend

Because he'll be too expensive, he's older than Milan seem to be going for.

If we go for a new defender, Fishdoll would much prefer either of the two starting centerbacks from Bari.

i agree with being too expensive i didnt think about that. But I think it would be worth it since hes 27 and defenders in milan last until at least 36 or 37. We should go for the bari defenders but i dont think they'll be starters most likely backups

Gonna respectfully disagree with you on a couple of things, Patinho. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I just don't think Alex is that stellar and wouldn't want to see the club splash out crazy money on him. I also think that perhaps you may be underestimating the Bari centerbacks (who are, incidentally, also the starting centerbacks for the Italy U21s) -- Bari have the second best record in the league as far as goals conceded; only the cugini have conceded fewer and that's only one goal.

Sorry! But Fishdoll is a big fan of Bari and has followed them for the last few years. The two CBs are Andrea Ranocchia (U21 captain) and Leonardo Bonucci. Ranocchia is on loan from Genoa and Bonucci is on a co-ownership deal with Genoa.

The wild thought Fishdoll has is that if Genoa really want Storari and Huntelaar as Tuttosport seems to think, perhaps a deal can be made for one or both of the kids for next year.

thanks it would be cool if at least one of them came, kind of leaning towards the captain of the U21s

I like him best too, to be honest. Fyi, he wears the #13 jersey and has in past (it's been some months so can't find a link) cited Nesta as his idol.

YES. Ranocchia is a beast, def one for the future and I could definately see him as a replacement for Nesta. I also think we should take a look at Catania's Giuseppe Bellushi(sp) cause he was clearly one of the best performers against us. For Jan I would like to see Milos Krasic come in too, he seems to be ready for us and he could clearly give us another dimension in the offensive.

Maybe we can inject Cafu with some water from the fountain of youth and get him back

Also, speaking of ranocchia-- goal.com just named Nesta, Silva, and Ranocchia defenders of the season so far

New rumor: tuttomercatoweb is quoting an affariitaliani (no clue if this site is in any way reliable) saying that Milan may be looking at Gooner #3 keeper Vito Mannone.

Why? Cafu is young enough only like 39

Milan are tracking young Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone, according to Affaritaliani.it.

Milan have been unable to find a secure goalkeeper with injuries to Marco Storari and Christian Abbiati, while Nelson Dida has been inconsistent.

The 21-year-old has made eight appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this campaign and is considered a hot prospect for the future.

The English outfit prised the shot stopper away from the Atalanta youth side in 2005 and have been nurturing him ever since. This is the first season he has featured with any regularity under coach Arsene Wenger.

Mannone has also earned a spot as an Italy Under-21 international, making his debut in November against Hungary.
