Hey guys, how did DiGi, Abate and more importantly Albertazzi do?

nothing really. Abate is fast, and gennaro can take free kicks. Thats pretty much it.

I always said here that Abate is the more promising of the 2 and I will stand by it.

We'll see whether or not they'll actually make any impact at all next season

yeah gennaro is trash but who knows maybe they'll get better. Abate is decent.

When are Pirlo, Rino etc going to join the team? Or are they already in the US?

Fishdoll notes that a quick look at acmilan.com (whichever language), particularly the picture section, shows multiple shots of Pirlo and Rino training on Venice Beach in California. There were also shots of Rino on the bench during the game. He thinks they're all probably there unless someone's particularly good at photochopping.

Fishdoll notes further that Onyewu's official introduction/press conference thingy will be in...about half an hour from now, before the evening training in Atlanta.

As regards the game v LA, it wasn't all that bad given what it was. Fishdoll thought Di Gennaro did reasonably well - and that his free kick was a thing of beauty (when he was a primavera, he was said to be by far the most talented kid on the squad; it's more a matter of putting things into practice. He was fielded as a winger but his natural position is that of trequartista). None of the other kids really got a lot of time but Abate made a couple of runs and can clearly cross more accurately than Oddo who, in Fishdoll's opinion, sucks (not Locke's) donkey balls. None of the young kids made any big impacts but none made any huge errors. Fishdoll thought that of the lot (Albertazzi, Zigomi, Strasser), Strasser did the best.

Better crosses than Oddo? - (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) well that isn't too hard
But I agree Abate's crosses looked quite good.

Should anyone know of a link to stream Gooch's official presentation it would be appreciated.
Otherwise I'd settle for a link after it has actually taken place.
At the moment - its the only real new signing thus far, so I won't taking it in.

Here's Fishdoll's quick and dirty translation of Onyewu's press conference (which is only on the italian page so far.) Fishdoll's probably not perfectly accurate and is a little annoyed that they're not posting it in English too since he almost certainly SPOKE in English. (from acmilan.com's italian page)

QUOTE
I was very happy when I found out I'd be playing for Milan. I've got to say I was also a little emotional because playing for such a presitigious club isn't something that happens every day and not for everyone. The fact that I've arrived at Milan makes me happy also because I can be useful to the club. I'll try to help my teammates with my physicality if necessary. These are characteristics that can help a team.

I know Serie A very well, and think it's a difficult and competitive championship. I'm aware of the difficulties I'll find with the presence of so many good players. This brings competition and is important for a team with ambitions because it raises attention.

Luis Fabiano did great things in the Confederations Cup. I know well from having faced him there. Given that he's not yet a Milan player it's not right to talk more about it but it'd be nice if he arrived.

Ibrahimovic is a great player. If I should face him I'll try to close him off and do my best. I've already faced him once and he didn't score on me - when we were playing for our national teams. I don't know if I'll face him but for sure I won't let him score if I do.

I don't agree with the whistles to Beckham. David is a great player. I wasn't in LA to see the game and I didn't see the moment live. I know that there were whistles but there was also applause. Some saw his return in one way and some saw it in another. David is a great player and deserves respect.

I was going to create a Player thread for him but I figured I'd leave to one of you who are accoustomed doing it.
So could someone make a player thread for Gooch if it isn't already done. Thanks - after all he is one of us now! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
