Any team is going to have players who stand out. Milan recently: Kaka and Pirlo and Nesta Jose's Chelsea: Drogba and Lamps and Terry Liverpool: Gerrard and Torres Barca: Messi and Xavi Manchester: John O Shea... (he literally stands out.. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) Doesn't mean anything much really.

I think it comes down to the tactics. I never saw Derby try to take on Chelsea with 11 players in their own halves. While teams like Messina would do exactly that. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Carletto is deadly boring. I'm a patient man but... 3 DMF's and Pirlo against City the other day? It's a ****ing friendly you uncreative bast***!!! Ancelotti has exceeded every limit... he has entirely thrown creativity out of his world... and even if I rate him, I wish with all my heart this is his last ever season with Milan, I never thought I could be bored so much by anyone...

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 14 2008, 12:24 PM) Well we could have gone all out and end up with 3 injuries like Man City for some friendly game.. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I seriously doubt injuries have anything to do with the formation you choose to play with... QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Aug 14 2008, 12:32 PM) I just don't see how Carlo's lasted this long. Top clubs can't afford failure for 2 years running, but now we're heading for a 3rd! Well, technically 4th! Ermm... 2nd? We won the CL in '06-'07 mate... I don't think that can be considered a failure even if we never challenged for the Scudetto to do that...

Just a difference of opinion then. I think it tarnishes the CL win if you don't really compete for the title or win the league the previous season. I'm sure Madrid, United, Chelsea, Barcelona could all just give up on the league in order to win the CL and probably end up doing it. I also believe League > Europe. Yes, it's nice to play in Europe and do well, but ultimately it's the league that decides everything for you and is the one that runs the longest. 3 bad seasons in a row so far for me. But like I said, just a difference of opinion.

Yes, of course, since Calciopoli. Then again, that's long enough for me. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) The amount of world beaters we have (or had) in Kaka, Nesta, Pirlo, Seedorf, Ronaldo, and everyone in between, we should have won most of our last encounters. Particularly when you factor in that we were playing against merda and their losing mentality. The fact that we weren't even good enough to draw, is well, pretty bad.

3 bad seasons in a row so far for me. But like I said, just a difference of opinion. It's not a difference of opinion pal, you're just being stubborn cause you don't like the CL. But you can't call a season in which you won the CL a bad season, no matter what! And this has nothing to do with one's personal view, you just can't... I understand what you're saying about winning the CL when not competing for the championship and I agree with you but while it does tarnish your victory, if you win it you have not failed in any sense. I know you're not going to admit it but to me you are just being ridiculously stubborn here.
