According to Italian sports daily Tuttosport, Milan are set to offer Chelsea 30 million Euros for the services of Didier Drogba.
With the never-ending problems concerning Ronaldo continuing, the Rossoneri are looking around in the market to find a striker of the highest level in order to have a deadly attack line for next season.
With Pato being hailed as the new best striker in the world by president Silvio Berlusconi and coach Carlo Ancelotti, Milan now want a partner for him and Kaka.
According to the latest speculation coming from Italy, the world club champions are preparing a bid of 30m for the services of Drogba, who has often been linked to a move to Milan in the past seasons.
The fact that the striker wants to play in the Olympics in August has already upset the Chelsea bosses, and there has also been plenty of fallout from his volatile comments following Jose Mourinho's departure - something that has upset Roman Abramovich personally.
Then of course, there is the issue of his current injury, with the Ivorian insisting on an immediate operation as opposed to soldiering on for a couple of weeks.
Both parties are unhappy with the way things have panned out over the last couple of months. While all that has been brushed under the carpet for now, it will all be discussed in detail over the summer, and a move away from Stamford Bridge is very much possible.
With Amauri not for sale according to Palermo's director of sports, Rino Foschi, signing the Ivorian seems like the only way for Milan to bring in a player who can guarantee a number of matches per season, unlike Ronaldo, who has featured just once in the last 6 months.

Drogba: I Will Join Barça Or MilanThe Ivorian striker has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge on a consistent basis ever since the departure of Jose Mourinho. Drogba revealed in an interview with France Football last October that he would definitely be leaving the club, and that nothing could change his mind. The two clubs most heavily associated with signing the 29-year-old have been Barcelona and Milan. The player has now admitted that he will be ending up at one of these two destinations at the end of the season. "The next summer I will go away from London,†Drogba was quoted while on duty at the African Cup of Nations in Ghana. “For my future there is Barcelona or Milan.†One key factor in deciding which of these two giants Drogba opts for could be linked to former mentor Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician has been linked with taking over at both clubs, as Frank Rijkaard and Carlo Ancelotti are both virtually certain to move on to pastures new in the summer. Drogba has a very close bond with Mourinho, and has never hidden how grateful he is for making him the world-class player he is today. goal.com

Gee, wasn't it yesterday that he said he was happy at Chelsea?(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Drogba is a very strong striker in excellent form. I hesitate just a touch at saying I'd want him in Milan for a couple of reasons: 1. He seems to be a bit of a drama queen and I worry that it might disrupt the dressing room; 2. I definitely wouldn't want him if it means bringing the Portuguese coach (no offense, Porty) with him.

I'm not convinced he's the person we need. A long ball specialist?? So he's strong, and has got good presence inside the box. And as for being a proven goal scorer...when you switch leagues it counts for little.

And as for being a proven goal scorer...when you switch leagues it counts for little. It's not like his style to play football depends on a certain kind to play football in England. He's just like Luca Toni. Those kind of players (tall, strong, athletic) can play in any league of the world without further reembedding.

I mean getting a proven striker isn't as easy as throwing money at someone. Chelsea learnt that with Sheva...I'd rather we not learn it ourselves. Drogba took one season to get used to EPL after he moved in from Marseille. He's been trained by Mourinho to play in Jose's system. He even credits Mou with that. And you don't need me to tell you Mourinho's system and Milan's system are poles apart. For starters, Drog is not gonna have people send him aerial balls and long crosses from left right and centre...no balls richochetting off clumsy defender's backsides to tap in. And a hundred defenders won't jump on his back so he can twist them all around and score. That's not how Serie A defending works. He's more likely to get through balls, radar guided passes (from my boy (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) and defensive mid-fielders cutting/ choking his supply, defenders surrounding him, leaving him enough space to move but do nothin else. Essentially leaving him to link up with Kaka and Seedorf, who are far more technical and less physical than Lamps / Mikel. Please don't get me wrong...Drog is not a retard to sit and do nothing...of course he'll acclimatise. But I'm not spending 30 mill to see him take a year to get the hang of things. 15 mill fair enough.

The Drogba you describe (the one who depends a lot on crosses and aerial balls) is IMO the old Drogba. His game is by far better nowadays. He's a world-class finsisher (something we don't have as Pato is too young Gila is Gila and Pippo and the fat one beeing always injured), he brings his amazing physics into play perfectly and he knows how to use this in a very smart way. He might have needed that year in England when he was still 26 and only playing in France before....now he's 30 and a world class player. Amauri? He's nothing special and I don't want another brazilian either.
