QUOTE (Channel 4) Crespo snaps at Mourinho Sunday 1 March, 2009 Hernan Crespo went from the stands to goal hero, but was in no mood for celebrating after the 3-3 draw with Roma.
“It is no coincidence that I am ready at all times,” snapped the striker, who shed tears during the post-match interview.
“I work hard every day to ensure I am here when I am needed. This club knows it can count on me at any moment and I will give 100 per cent in every minute I get to play.”
The Argentine was originally left off the bench for this game, but when Zlatan Ibrahimovic sustained a thigh twinge earlier today, he was drafted in at the last minute.
Crespo then came on as a substitute with Inter trailing 3-2 and nodded in the decisive goal within 90 seconds of stepping on to the field.
“What was in my celebration? A bit of everything. There was joy, anger, pride, frustration, everything I have been feeling this season.”
His rapport with Jose Mourinho has been very shaky, as he has been pushed out of the side and is not even on the Champions League list.
“I really can't explain it. I know these things happen and I am a professional, so all I can do is keep working hard.
“I want to dedicate this goal to my little girls, who were watching my goal on television,” said Crespo as he fought back tears. Very interesting article. I think we tend to forget that players are human just like us, and not robots. (It also explains why Ibra didn't play today.)

Hah. That really was a great one. I feel sorry for Palermo in a way as it was a home game for them and, well, they just got pasted.

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Mar 2 2009, 08:05 PM) Wouldn't you rather have him than sheva? At this point, it's pretty much irrelevant.

None of them (unless we keep Pippo).

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Mar 2 2009, 08:41 PM) I see, which veteran striker would you prefer? I'd prefer Crespo judging to the recent (-past 2 years) form but the unrational part in me still says Shevchenko has it in him and somehow will surprise us when at least expected.

I wish Sheva would just go. If he still can play football he should go play somewhere else!

QUOTE (Tennie @ Mar 2 2009, 01:44 AM) Fishdoll er, um, thanks for the gesture but he's not a fish who goes for humans with dangly bits. dst might be interested? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) QUOTE (MizNelson @ Mar 2 2009, 02:12 AM) dst's reply to this one should be a post of the year candidate. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Cannot perform under pressure... I have to say though I prefer white chocolate... and he's too tall... and I'm not into men these days... well okay, the truth is... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) he said he could not go on with me... he's in love with some Californian girl... said she's the only one who thinks him dropping things is cute...

Roma coach Luciano Spaletti got a touchline ban for naughty words said after cugini-Roma.
Oddly, the cugini coach can say what he wants and nothing at all happens to him. (not to mention that no penalties have been called against his team so far this season).
Gosh, it couldn't be that the cugini are being FAVORED, could it? [/sarcasm]
