One score of note:

Napoli 0 - 1 Genoa

A group of ultras have blocked the Napoli bus from leaving the stadium (the players are still in the dressing room).

So the team were kept there over 3 hours. There were meetings with the club president and general manager and coach, etc.

The fans were also wanting to call out various of the players who they think are too busy partying to play well.

Quite a standoff, apparently.

Didafan takes one of Fishdoll's cookies and awards it to Fernando Muslera, who made several saves and kept a clean sheet in Lazio's 2-0 win over Lecce yesterday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Feb 22 2009, 08:59 PM) *
I agree with dst .. a moment of silence for people involved in the sport or a national figure's death.

@Locke president of Syria is not Abbas, its Bashar Al Asad. Abbas is the president of Palestine, and he doesn't have death squads .. There are two fractions in Palestine, Hamas and Fatah (Fatah is a fraction of the PLO - Palestinian Liberation Organization - and Abbas is their figure head. While Hamas are the democratically elected government of Palestine), I'm guessing these are who you refer to .. But they are not death squads, they are freedom fighters who retaliate when Israel drive Palestinians out of their homes and builds settlements in place of those. But all you see on tv is when they retaliate and thus are labeled terrorists or death squads or whatever.

Anyways, I am not trying to derail anything from this thread neither this forum ... But it just hurts when you have over 500 children murdered by random bombardments on their homes and surroundings - with no place for shelter and a moments of silence given to someone who has lived a full life (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I don't wanna comment the first part cause this is not a political discussion. But I need to say that I object to your opinion.
As for the second part. I think Locke simply wanted to state that there are terrible things happening all over the world and yes: Those civilians are the innocent victims of a conflict that should have been solved over ten years ago.

Sad is not strong enough... and the people that let them be are even worse. They should put an end to it, it's ridiculous.

QUOTE
Prandelli: Fiorentina Haven't Stolen Any Results

Fiorentina have managed two impressive consecutive come backs in Serie A over the past nine days, scoring in the final minute of both matches to draw Genoa 3-3 and win over Chievo Verona 2-1.

"Some of my players are wearing tights, as they have committed robbery," laughed Viola coach Cesare Prandelli when being interviewed by Calciomercato.

"Joking aside, we have not stolen anything, we only the presumption that we are able to do better and this means until June arrives we will fight until the end for fourth place in Serie A."

Despite the run of good results in domestic play, Fiorentina were defeated by Ajax Amserdam 1-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Cup tie in Florence.

"I am optimisic, but to win in Holland we must go there both convinced and motivated. We must believe, because everything depends on us," concluded the Italian tactician.

Fiorentina play the second-leg against Ajax on Thursday evening, and then visit Calabria to play relegation-threatened Reggina on Sunday.

What a liar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

They absolutely robbed Chievo of a point/stole 2 points.

QUOTE (dst @ Feb 23 2009, 04:34 PM) *
What happened in that match?

A combination of a second straight buzzer-beater by Mutu, at the same time Chievo were furious that a foul went uncalled.

QUOTE (Channel 4)
Fiorentina equalised at the last second last week and did it again! Once more Mutu bagged the winner with the last kick of the game, as Gilardino touched back for the Romanian's fierce strike that ricocheted in off goalkeeper Sorrentino's leg! Chievo were livid, as they felt there was a foul on Mandelli in the build-up, so Frey and Gamberini fought to stop a huge brawl breaking out. Yepes above all was furious and had to be manhandled into the players' tunnel.

That's just stupid. Mistakes can happen, if it was a foul it did not decide the match; Chievo still had spent 90 minutes they could have done more with.

Mistake? go watch the goal, please! Chievo player jumped to head the ball, Mutu clearly fouled on him (and didn't even touch the ball), and while the ref was just 2 meters from the scene, he scandalously ordered to play on, and the very same Mutu scored just seconds later.

I was about to puke when I saw it on TV...

What on earth do you mean by this?!!

I'm just saying that one can't blame the ref for everything that happens. There are going to be mistakes. But what did Chievo do in 93 minutes to deserve more than they got?
