One halftime score for Locke:

Fiorentina 0 - 1 Chievo (goal Morero) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

Not a lot of scoring today so far.

Foggia scored a nice one for Lazio away to Lecce.

Capuano scored for Catania against Reggina.

How many minutes of silence did they give to the 500+ murdered children of Palestine during the month long bombardment of Gaza ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

How many minutes of silence for the leaders of democracy who are being slaughtered by the death squads of the president of Syria, Abbas?
How many minutes of silence for the thousands of people who are going to die because of the mass emmigration of cholera infected zimbabweans who are now heading towards South Africa taking their maladies with them?

That's all political. In my opinion they are right not to go there.

Serie A is right not to go into making political statements.

Either that or Pana is talking about backdoor lovemaking...you can never say with that one...(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

It's nothing to do with that, in my opinion. It just has nothing to do with the club, or Milan. I can only understand silences for people associated with the club that die, disasters in the area/country.

One score of note:

Napoli 0 - 1 Genoa

A group of ultras have blocked the Napoli bus from leaving the stadium (the players are still in the dressing room).

I agree with dst .. a moment of silence for people involved in the sport or a national figure's death.

@Locke president of Syria is not Abbas, its Bashar Al Asad. Abbas is the president of Palestine, and he doesn't have death squads .. There are two fractions in Palestine, Hamas and Fatah (Fatah is a fraction of the PLO - Palestinian Liberation Organization - and Abbas is their figure head. While Hamas are the democratically elected government of Palestine), I'm guessing these are who you refer to .. But they are not death squads, they are freedom fighters who retaliate when Israel drive Palestinians out of their homes and builds settlements in place of those. But all you see on tv is when they retaliate and thus are labeled terrorists or death squads or whatever.

Anyways, I am not trying to derail anything from this thread neither this forum ... But it just hurts when you have over 500 children murdered by random bombardments on their homes and surroundings - with no place for shelter and a moments of silence given to someone who has lived a full life (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

+1 very well said.

If they had to that for every tragic incident happened around the world, they would have never gotten a chance to actually start the game!

Seems like I mixed the names up a bit...I wasn't thinking about Hamas this time to be honest, what I'm referring to is how Syria is undermining every Lebanese attempt to stabilize their country.
As for Hamas, well I refuse to call people who strap bombs to mentally retarded children and send them into super markets to blow themselves up freedom fighters. Neither do I find their habit of hiding amongst palestina's civilian population particularly admireable.

Anyways, we're so off topic here that some mod or another is bound to take action soon so lets just say I agree that 500 dead children is horrible no matter the circumstances but as Zed says there will always be tragic events.
There will always be some kid who gets run over by something big with wheels.

There simply aren't enough minutes for every one of them to get a silent one.

That is sad. That's why I hate it when we post about Travolta's son's death (honestly, who?) here but not about things like that. We suck.

That's not proven. The opposite is not proven either. The only thing that we know is that that is how Israel justify their bombings on refugee camps and hospitals...

But anyway, it's a weird situation down there... and this is not the place.

I'm sure we would, but with this forum being full of people from all over the World, I don't think it'd be the wisest thing to do.
