dst, A.Madrids Aguero is a beast. He singlehandedly destroyed Barca last season (much like El Nino used to) and constantly tormented La Liga's finest

QUOTE
Lo Monaco: Shut up Jose!

Monday 15 September, 2008

Catania sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco has blasted Inter Coach Jose Mourinho for his comments after Saturday's San Siro encounter.

A 10-man Inter side struggled to a 2-1 win over the Sicilians courtesy of a Cristian Terlizzi own goal.

But Mourinho claimed that it should have been 5-1 and that the score-line would have been the same had he been in goal instead of Julio Cesar.

And the Special One's typically bombast statements seem to have angered the Etnei camp.

“Someone who says those things has no respect for opponents, his fellow Coaches or the nation that has welcomed him in,” Lo Monaco bellowed on Radio Anch'io Sport.

“I won't stoop to his level but I will say that we won't be won over by his smooth talk and that he must learn to hold his tongue.

"To be honest I think the Special One needs a smack in the mouth.

“Mourinho would be well served to think about his problems and I hope he wins because if he doesn't he will have to pack his bags quickly and leave.”

There was already tension between the two sides after Sulley Muntari was dismissed for an elbow on Giacomo Tedesco, but the Nerazzurri players claimed there was no contact.

“Everyone knows Muntari and he's not new to this kind of gesture,” Lo Monaco said in closing. “He totally deserved his dismissal.”

And the answer:

Mourinho: Who is Lo Monaco?

Monday 15 September, 2008

(IMG:http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/imgs/mourinhonews01.jpg)

Inter's Jose Mourinho has mocked Catania sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco as a war of words between the two clubs starts to gain momentum.

The Italian champions had to fight hard to beat Catania 2-1 last Saturday after they had been reduced to 10 men by the controversial dismissal of Sulley Muntari.

But Mourinho angered Catania director Lo Monaco by claiming that it “should have been 5-1 to Inter” and that he could have played in goal for the Nerazzurri without conceding.

Lo Monaco blasted the Portuguese tactician for a lack of respect, but Mourinho has struck back by satirising the Etnei man's name - Monaco means 'monk' and is also the Italian name for Munich.

“Who is Lo Monaco?” he said. “I know of the Tibetan monk, the Principality of Monaco, Bayern Munich and the Monaco Grand Prix, but that's all.

“If this Lo Monaco wants to make a name for himself by talking about me then he should pay me.

“I already have sponsors who pay me for publicity and I'm not paid to make a name for Lo Monaco. I guess that those who want to be on the front page know how to get there,” he sniped.

This guys never learn. Do not provoke him or you'll end like an idiot like this Lo Monaco.

(I fear the wrath of Tennie)

Mourinho's right to some extent though. I'd never heard that man's name before. seriously. now all the world surely will remember Lo Monaco not because of what he said about Mou, but because of what Mou said about him!

Is he Italian btw?

It's not admiring. it is not taking too seriously. everyone can see he's an arrogant prick. he really truly is! but personally I kinda find that amusing.

I only admire him as a coach. nothing else.

of course he's arrogant, along with the majority of the people in sports, i've met a lot of these guys. they're all the same, except for the odd exception. the difference is he doesnt give a Sht about what others think, also his comments are hilarious + you cant really take everything he says seriously.

anyways i just find it funny that some just love to hate this guy, but seem to be fine with everyone else. i mean i'm sure theres several members of this current squad that are arrogant but just arent vocal about it.

Bill Shankly was too. Same for Helenio Herrera.
Both arrogant, both "pricks", call you whatever you want... but they were genious - surely in the group of the best coaches ever. Now they're legends.

Hmm. This is what I've learned about the Inter-Catania game.
-Many people on here, including myself, though Biazzari the Catania goal keeper was superb.
-Now to me, this suggests he made alot of good saves, thus saving them from conceeding more goals.
-Jose says it could have been 4 or 5-1, in which he is correct in saying, but thanks to Bizzari the score was kept down.
-The Catania guy comes out and criticises Jose for this.
-Jose is not a pushover, why should he allow somebody to get personal with him when all he states what in my opinion was the truth.
-Jose is seen as the bad guy.

Outcome: Jose was right to say Inter should have won by more, Lo Monaco made himself look stupid, then Jose made him look stupid.

Still at work (don't ask) and not able to pull the information but the headline on yesterday's gazzetta was something along the lines of 'Inter need 2 own goals to beat Catania'. Inside there were stories about Muntari apologizing for the red card and admitting he was at fault right next to the Jose articles lambasting Tedesco for play acting. The public in Italy sees things a little differently, if Gazzetta is any indication.

I think the sending off was harsh personally, Muntari didn't even look behind him, so how he supposedly whacked him in the face on purpose I'll never know. I like him and his comical attitude towards thing, he's a great character and miss him in the EPL.

Berlusconi: "Sack Ancelotti ? I am the Italian Prime Minister."

When asked about the rumors of an Ancelotti sacking, Berlusconi replied: "I deal only with Italy amongst many other things, I am not the president of Milan."

Adriano Galliani spoke to Telelombardia: "Our priority at the moment isn't to change the coach. The meeting went well. The meeting didn't only involve our coach, but the fitness coach and doctor. We talked about everything, and confronted all the problems for two hours, and then life goes on. Is Milan's problem physical or psychological ? I don't know, but I don't think it is psychological. Tomorrow there will be a special session in order to evaluate a few things and from there we shall see."

Galliani: "Stop distributing rumors, I have heard about this in every tv station and every paper. My priority is not that of changing coaches and neither is it the clubs! We haven't even thought of changing coaches. There is no foundation to what is being written or broadcasted, it is all false!"
