Apparently he exaggerated. It's Paddy Kenny, the Sheffield United goalkeeper. He's been found using performance enhancing drugs and could face a 2 year ban. I suppose it is a big story, if it had happened to a bigger name player it'd been one of the all-time biggest footballing stories I suppose. It is the first of it's kind, players have used recreational drugs before, but never 'cheated' with them. I like the guy, but he should be banned for life, there's already enough of this in US sports, don't let it come here, send a messege, make an example.

Well it should be really. If it was Ronaldo I'm sure it would be all you'd hear about for the rest of the summer. It shouldn't make a difference who the player is really.

You truly believe Europe is clean? I am almost sure drugs are heavily used in football in every country.

by the way, are there drugs that can improve one's reflexes cause otherwise I don't see why a goalie needs such "help"...

I never said Europe was clean. I know there's alot of random drugs tests in Premier League football that take place after training sessions, which is where Rio got caught out a few years ago.

Yeah, I don't understand why things are illegal. Barry Bonds in baseball is the big drugs story over recent years.. but I don't see how drugs can tell you when to swing, etc.

That sounds about right. Maybe it should be a little less since they were relegated. Downing, in theory, should be worth that alone. Bentley was sold for £17m and he's better than Bentley.

Yes.. for 2 players.

12.5m euros each is a pretty damn good price for them 2. Downing is massively under-rated due to how awful he is for England. I can't imagine many people outside of England watch Middlesbrough games so can't really judge him there. Tuncay had a superb season for Boro and I would love to have him here, I'd even look past the fact he's a Turk.

I hope this is true and that we do sign them. We were laughed at for signing Ashley Young for £9.25m and Milner for £12m.. turns out they are now 2 of the best wingers in the league. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Norway never did nothing to you! Well there was the Viking incident, but Carew has made up for that hasn't he? And the first CL ever won by an English club? A Norwegian scored the winning goal. So there. Like us.
