Highly tipped youngsters like Modric have found it very difficult, because there game is based on being able to have time on the ball, I think Gourcuff is the same in that respect. They would suit a different league. Another reason he wouldn't play is our manager. MON thinks long and hard before he brings in a player, he brings in people with a certain type of attitude - we no longer have trouble makers at the club - and work ethic. Ability may be a good thing, but if you aren't willing to work hard, then you won't be playing for him. If you're a winger, but don't get back and defend, then it's like you're playing with 10 men when they're in posession, and that's something he won't have. Ashley Young is our most exciting player going forward, but he's expected to do things like this in his own box too. |
