It was a very clean cut well played game, no mistakes, kept possession easily, scored 2 great team goals. Kept a clean sheet, it was really great to finally see a good Azzurri match, my only frustration was Iaquinta as my mind is still baffled as to why such a mediocre player can ever get anywhere near a NT team shirt, especially concidering that that NT is the current World champ [b]and has G.Rossi on the bench[b]

I think Rossi was benched because he was judged to not have played well against Georgia -- also he's a different sort of player than Iaquinta (I'd sub him and Gilardino). Just a guess, though. Haven't seen the whole game and won't for another few hours.

I think they need one more game as there's only a 4 point spread between Italy and second place (Ireland?). Just saw the wonder save on the news and it was amazing -- but did the ball cross the line? A little hard to say.

My dad is on about going, so I will go if I can get any tickets. Going to see England in a World Cup game is definitly one of my top 50 things to do before I die.

Yeah man defo try and go (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) i'm not sure yet but my dad thinks Airlines such as Emirates will be doing packages Game Tickets +Air Tickets and booking of hotels all in one , ok just looked at the packages , looks like people will have to pay through the nose , looks expensive !! tried booking just for me as a test to see the prices , to watch a England match with Airline ticket and all in a 2 star hotel was 2,618.68 GBP

Not sure who your local side is, but you should pop down every now and then. I've been to a few none-Villa games and in a way they're more enjoyable. You can just enjoy the football without the stress or the heart-attacks!

Don't generalize. Well sorry but I don't like them, I think they're uptight, sore losers and @ss holes. And it would be great seeing them not making it, and it is more satisfying to see them being held back then them gracing the tournament with their @ssish presence. Just not looking at Domenech's ugly face will be enough to make my summer.

What about Buffon's save?

Buffon- 9: Did not have too much to do on the whole, but at 1-0 Buffon produced a contender for save of the year with a simply impossible stop from Stilian Petrov. That save alone earns Buffon a 9.

It was amazing, literally jumped out of no where to save a sure thing, at first I thought it hit the post it was so quick.

I will put some of it down to Capello. He has the team working well. He's also the only manager in a while that has us playing the way we should be, like an EPL side. We just break so quickly, our midfielders are flying into the box to get onto the end of things. We started off very dull in the Capello era, he tried to make us play a continental ball-retention type way and it didn't work. Credit for him to dropping it and playing to the players strengths.

P.S. Are Italy in the World Cup for certain now, or do they still need a few more points?

Some of it?? Capello made the group of indidual egostistic players you called a team into an actual one. And funny how it took an Italian coach to make the English NT finally play like an EPL team and not McLaren (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) If England actually achieve anything come the world cup 75% should be attributed to the coach, because no matter how many good players you have England would never accomplish anything if it weren't for Cap.

Yeah but now that he's not called up its useless to keep whining about it. But having Rossi on the bench and playing 2 target men upfront while one of them is the awful Iaquinta there is no choice but complaining.

Rossi isn't always going to come on and score 2 goals like he did in the Confed Cup. He's still far better then Iaquinta, and playing Iaquinta and Gila together upfront is useless. Gila is obviously the better player of the 2, then there is Rossi and Di Natale to play in support. Iaquinta only plays because he's a Zebra, that's the only reasonable explanation as to why this sorry excuse of a player starts for the Azzurri.

And really its funny with all the talk of all the Juve boys in the team, yet it was Pirlo at the end of the day who was the star of the show and lead Italy to the win, it certainly wasn't Iaquinta or Camo who did it
