QUOTE (aLbErTo @ Feb 18 2008, 12:16 AM) he scored 13 goals this year for Zaragoza already... i havent seen him play this year so i cant comment on his current fourm but just because hes scored 13 goals doesnt mean hes good enough to play for milan...its like sayin c.ronaldo has scored 27 goals in epl so he would come to italy and make the same impact....never ever ever...even the smaller italian clubs would give ronaldo a hard time....all that fancy footwork wouldnt prevail in sera a....he would end up like brazilian ronaldo n get hurt n be out for 2 years...might have been a little more convincing if he was still playin in seria a but milan loaned him out with option to buy for a reason.

QUOTE (vnata001 @ Feb 18 2008, 11:11 PM) Team him up with pato and kaka and i promise we wouldn't be mad about it. Oh you promise? Then everything changes, bring Oli in! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) No really, you could be right or you could be wrong, thing is, we're probably not going to learn the answer to this... In my judgment, he would not be a starter for Milan. We need someone better than him. But I would welcome him as a back-up player. In any case, I agree with you on that we have not been fair to him. But maybe it was for the best that he was loaned out to Spain cause there he seems to be more comfortable and so our board might have thought he would get back to his best sooner than we would do with Milan.

I'd be happy with Mutu.
quick note: in what I consider to be somewhat encouraging news, the italian press is finally starting to notice Leverkusen's Rene Adler. There was a short bit about him today, noting that he's getting praise from all around the Bundesliga, etc, and that he's currently favorite to get the #1 jersey for Germany for Euro 2008. (yes he's young, but I'd love to see him at Milan. He's very, very good.)

The last German GK we had was the boy wonder Lehmann...and that didn't work out too well for us. And he's young??!!!! No way...

You can't compare those two TBH....not in any way. When Lehmann joined Milan he wasn't young, he was 29, that's not exactly the age of a boy wonder. Lehmann is a very arrogant, self-loving player with a big mouth and too much self confidence. Adler is the exact opposite. He's smart, he knows when he has to be silent (after his brillant performance against Karlsruhe he didn't give any interview and he refuses to talk about the EURO despite him beeing the best german goalie for a year or so now), he always wants to learn and unlike Lehmann he doesn't think that he's the worlds greatest just because of one good performance. Look, I follow this guy since he was playing for the german U20 in 2004 and back then I already knew that this guy would be a big thing.

I don't think Leverkusen would ask that much for him, Jack, but it wouldn't be cheap. See if you can catch a stream of a Leverkusen game - you'll see why both La Palma and I rate him so highly.
In today's transfer rumor, Tuttosport (yes, I know, it's usually worthless for Milan rumors) is reporting that Luca Toni wants to return to Italy after his German adventure and that if he did so, he'd go to Milan. The article notes that Bayern would be hesistant to let him go.

Oohh, Germany is way past Lehmann. Look, IMO Germany has in this moment the worlds best keepers around. Except of Oli Kahn and Jens Lehmann who I rate high, there are established keepers like Enke, Rost, Hildebrandt and Weidenfeller (injuried right now) and youngsters like Adler, Rensing and Neuer. How can anyone compete? Italy? Only Buffon and maybe Amelia. Curci does not play that much,.. As for Adler, he's in superb form now, he's great potential. But no internatianl experience. So, ther could be problems, like the ones Neuer had this season. He's young - which means a big plus for Leverkusen and a big minus for Milan. We don't need a young one.

Ok...let's buy him for Bochum then...and you can be our feeder club tongue.gif
But he's young, is what our management are gonna say, and he's definitely gonna be in the 20 mill range easy... A player like Adler in Bochum would be a dream. We're going to see what our management will do. I have the feeling they're seeking new ways to strenghten the team. I know that a transfer of Adler is highly unlikely though. 20 Mill would be a bargain IMO. Juve paid 50 Million for Gigi when he was 23...didn't turn out to be much did it? (I'm not saying Adler will become the new Gigi though).

QUOTE Ferrari: I'm off in June Wednesday 20 February, 2008
Matteo Ferrari has confirmed that he will be leaving Roma at the end of the season, but claims that he hasn’t yet agreed a deal with Milan.
The 27-year-old defender has been unsettled at the Stadio Olimpico this term as he continues to struggle to command a starting place.
With the Algeria-born stopper’s contract set to expire this summer, he will be available on a free transfer at the end of the campaign to any club willing to pay his wages.
“The conditions for a renewal at Roma aren’t there,†he stated in Il Tempo.
“In June I will be leaving, but I will give my all until the end of my last game for the Giallorossi.
“I have become used to being whistled and I expected it after there were reports that I had already agreed a deal with Milan.
“But I want to make it clear that I haven’t come to any agreement with anyone – I just won’t be staying here.â€
