QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Jul 25 2008, 06:14 PM) Surprisingly, Milan are always given a pile of cash to spend. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But what shocks me, is when Inter offer a 120 million euro deal for Pato, I mean, is it possible to have 120 million euros for a transfer and still have enough to pay for all your star players.... Of course, I use the old tactic of getting the player's morale high and getting them to sign a stingy contract. Pato plays on 75,000 Euros a week. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I make a million every home game. *sigh* I've gone and hijacked this thread (actually this once han started it)...now I have to find out where the old thread is. My roommate got an EA scholarship. He's on the development team for Fifa 09 and 10. From what he tells me, the big news is that they plan to take that co-op mode thing on Fifa 08 and take it online, to the whole next level. So now you have Fifa as a sports game, but also MMORPG... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Imagine that, we could all be players and make an MF team, and play online against the blokes from the inter and juve forums. Thats a pretty awesome scholarship. So can you hook us up with an early copy of FIFA 09.. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

^^ After he was copious with his 'Milan Vafancullo' comments? Eh. Then again, the only currently-mentioned option is the Traitor. Blech.

QUOTE (Tennie @ Jul 29 2008, 04:37 AM) ^^ After he was copious with his 'Milan Vafancullo' comments? Eh. Then again, the only currently-mentioned option is the Traitor. Blech. Well, technically these are just scrapes, players that no other club wants. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Based on his current showing, I don't see clubs lined up for the signature of the traitor - as good a player Sheva is (or was). Ditto for Crespo. It seems that the only time we want to be a giant is when we want to (Pato, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Rui Costa, Nesta). All other times it's just the regular show/transmission. I can't see us winning any player if clubs like Barca, Madrid, Chelsea, United, etc jump into the mix. Case in point: Alves, Torres, even Ibra. So if it comes down to Sheva and Crespo as free or low-cost options, I'd take them both, please. And so would Galliani. Or we can just try and sign back Ronaldo? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And hope for the best. PS: Care to shed more light on Milan Vafancullo - what it means and when Crespo spitted them? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

After Crespo's not-so-happy stay at Chelsea, there was talk about him wanting to return to Milan as he still has a home there. He apparently wanted to come to the red-and-black half where he'd been previously, but Milan weren't interested. The cugini were and that's where he ended up. He was rather bitter over the whole thing and I recall a couple of interviews in which he uttered Those Words.
Milan Vafancullo = F*** Milan.
(Incidentally, it's often what various curvas will chant about the visiting teams. Or sometimes just because. For example, I was at a Milan game when the Zebras were in Serie B. During the game, they flashed up Serie B scores and the Curva erupted spontaneously into a chant of 'Juve Juve Vafancullo'.)

There's been no official note that I can find since he was released by Chelsea. His contract hasn't been sent into the Lega Calcio offices (per Lega Calcio's website that helpfully keeps track of transfers by club). Not sure what the deal is with him still playing for the cugini.
