Mixed messages over Adebayor's Arsenal pledge
Emmanuel Adebayor's future at Arsenal - and a possible move to AC Milan or Barcelona - looks set to be decided next week.
Adebayor and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger have been in Austria this week for the latter stages of Euro 2008 but the pair have not spoken yet, with discussions due next week.
'I have three-year contract with Arsenal but I have a lot of clubs interested in me,' said Adebayor on Sky Sports News.
'At the moment we are just going to sit down and talk next week and decide what to do. At the moment I have a three-year contract at Arsenal and I have a lot of clubs interested in me.'
When asked if he could still go to Milan, he said: 'We will decide next week.'
There were mixed messages from the 24-year-old Togo striker when he attended a function for manufacturers adidas.
He did insist at a press conference, 'I'm staying at Arsenal', but then told broadcasters his future will be decided next week on his return to London.
Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf believes Adebayor has already made up his mind.
He told Setanta Sports News: 'When I spoke with him I said 'I'm waiting for you'. Let's see what will happen.
'He already said he would come, but it depends now on Arsenal.
'If he leaves Arsenal, it's a done deal. He comes to Milan.'
Whatever the outcome, Adebayor insists money would never be a motivating factor if he were to move clubs.
Arsenal would stand to make a substantial profit if they were to sell the striker that netted 30 goals for them last season, and Adebayor himself would also expect to see his wages increase.
However, the former Monaco striker said: 'When I was young I had a dream to be a good footballer and play for a big team.
'I was born in Togo so I never cared about playing for money, my happiness was to play to enjoy myself. That's what I've been doing until now.
'You can see people changing clubs because of money, because they want a change of atmosphere or to get their names in the big leagues. I just play football to enjoy myself. I play because I love it.'
While his situation may change when he meets Wenger, Adebayor has revealed his determination to win a trophy with the group of players Wenger has put together.
He said: 'You have a chance to play in a team where everyone is between 21 and 26 years old, we are all the same generation. We all have the same ideas, we go out together after games to restaurants.
'We all have the same ideas and we all want to achieve something. We have a good boss, which is Arsene Wenger, he tries to bring this atmosphere to the dressing room where we feel like brothers and like family.
'Those are the reasons that gives us a chance to play the football we play. We play good football, now we look forward to winning trophies.'
One of Arsenal's family could be starting in the Euro 2008 final, should Luis Aragones choose to field Cesc Fabregas in place of the injured David Villa.
Adebayor said: 'Whenever Cesc has been given a chance to come in he has shown his character and his good personality. He showed what we know about him - he's calm on the ball, he took the last penalty and scored it in the quarter-final.
'He has a coach who has to make a decision, he is the person who knows why Cesc starts on the bench. I would love to see him start at the beginning of the game.
'The coach has his own reason and the most important thing is that when he comes in he plays good football.'

Ronaldinho Will Join Milan – Bronzetti
Milan transfer consultant and super agent Ernesto Bronzetti believes that Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho will join the Rossoneri this summer.
The Brazilian had been Milan’s primary target a couple of months ago, but the transfer then hit a snag, and it was believed that there was little chance of it being resurrected.
However this all changed when the club’s Vice President Adriano Galliani stated that plans had been made to build a Milan side with Ronaldinho in it.
Bronzetti has now claimed that he believes the transfer will go through, and says that the playmaker is desperate to see it happen.
“Milan have never given up on him and I am the main witness of that because I am in regular contact with Ronaldinho and his brother,†Bronzetti told Radio Radio TV.
“I spoke to the player last night and he told me that he only wants to play for Milan and he wanted me to transmit that to Galliani.
“My impression is that in the end he will join Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, unless some strange things happen.â€
Barcelona are said to be demanding €35m, but Milan will only do business if this price falls dramatically.

The compete interview published today by Gazzetta dello Sport. QUOTE Galliani: The problem is not with waiting, but with the person we are waiting for
Milan's vice-president and general manager talked to the Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday.
Are you suffering from the critics that are pointing their fingers at you ?!
Galliani: "I am also a fan and feel angry when things don't go the way they should. But I don't know why there is such anger on a wide scale. Milan actually had done a lot more than any competitor, and despite the exaggerated costs Milan wont stop!"
Galliani, President Berlusconi had cut his deal with the people of Italy, and now it's time that he cuts his deal with the people of the rossoneri ?!
Galliani: "Of course, Milan will do all that is in it's power to bring in a great forward, and this is an oath I take upon myself for our fans."
Is it true that documents have arrived as of late, that involve Adebayor and Ronaldinho ?
Galliani: "Yes, that is true. These documents convey confidential information. But our position would change if the costs were too exaggerated."
Then one of them shall arrive; either Adebayor or Ronaldinho ?!
Galliani: "Exactly, and Ancelotti is in agreement of this. On Wednesday, we started to build and reassess the situation. And Carlo is ready now, he is getting Milan ready for Ronaldinho and without Adebayor."
And he backed down from his demands for a striker ?
Galliani: "In the meantime we have brought back Borriello and in all honesty we have faith in him. Without forgetting Inzaghi and Pato. If you put in Kaka' and Seedorf into the mix, our attacking capabilities would surpass that of our opponents."
But who will you give up if Ronaldinho comes ?!
Galliani: "That matter is down to Ancelotti. But from my stand point Milan plays a 4-3-3, so up front there is room for all our forwards .."
Hasn't Milan gotten bored of waiting for Ronaldinho ?!
Galliani: "Look, I have just finished reading the book 'Il giorno in più' author Fabio Folo. A true romantic and especially in his sentence: 'the problem isn't with waiting, but with the person we are waiting for'. And this phrase could have a close correlation with the situation with Ronaldinho."
Can we depend on that ?
Galliani: "The feelings are part of history and are always a part of this life. But not every love story ends with a happy ending, therefore I am taking my caution."
There were rumors that claimed that Milan had turned their back on Ronaldinho because of his personal life ?
Galliani: "I reject that notion."
From your point of view, do people like Ronaldinho ?
Galliani: "We have always thought about that. Maybe this is not a statistic, but my feeling is that people will accept him in a very good way."
How much are you planning on spending ?
Galliani: "Of course not Euro 35MM that Barca are demanding. The price has to be lower, closer to a realistic figure."
How do you assess the doubts over your last transactions ?
Galliani: "I can't go into details. But Milan have spent a lot, and in my opinion Milan have invested in the right options up till now."
But everyone is worried about the 21 points between Milan and inter ..
Galliani: "And I remain content! We have won on the international level and our fans have to be happy, because in the past 22 years under the reign of Berlusconi has brought us 26 titles.
These international claims that the club is raising up, don't you think that it is the main reason behind the club's Serie A troubles recently ?
Galliani: "Worng. The priority remains with the trophies that you cant win in every year. Therefore, the Scudetto will be our priority, while the UEFA cup will be the second choice and the alternative."
The new comers will be of the players that don't carry an EU citizenship ?
Galliani: "After seeing off Serginho and Oliveira, we have room for forign players. We will do something: maybe with the teenagers. In Brazil, Serginho will help Leonardo on finding new talents."
Are you planning on strengthening other departments in the team ?!
Galliani: "Many requests have come in for Paloschi, but he wont move unless a great striker arrives. We have also recieved several offers for Simic, Grimi, Abati and Digao."
So you have a chance until August to complete the big deal ?
Galliani: "We hope that we can conclude that deal in particular before August." Gazzetta dello Sport
