Yeah..I don't think the FIGC allows him to be an official Milan player yet.And if he's not an official Milan player, he can't play in UEFA right?

every player that comes from brazil have to be at least 18years old to sign officiall contract...he didnt had luck, since his bd was 3.9., but all the players registerd for the fortcoming season had to be put on paper till 1.9.

Anderson came to FC Porto with 17 yo and played for the League and the Champions League.

I think the club had to get a job for the parents and prove they worked there until he was 18. (In this case FC Porto gave his mother the job in a restaurant)

I dunno why Milan didn't do that. Maybe it's not legal in Italy, not the same rules...

(Isn't there an investigation into the whole job-for-Anderson's-parents thing, Porty? As I recall the people at the restaurant where his mother was supposed to be working had never heard of her.)

Yeah. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

But in the end what matters is that Porto got 20-30M/euros and Anderson a ticket to one of the biggest clubs in the world...

Can't wait to see if all this hype is justified. There will be a lot of pressure on him to perform.

I wouldn't say pressure ... I think he'll be given a chance to develop first, then a chance to get well integrated into the team ... By that time it will already be the end of the season. Maybe around next season or the one after he'll blossom. I doubt we'll see anything from him now. Especially not when he's playing against a 10 man defense (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I meant more from the media then from within the club. In so many articles he's described like the best forward from Brazil since Ronaldo. Plus all the coments from Carlo that he's better than ronaldinho add to that.

Most Italian teams are always playing against Milan 'a 10 man defense'. The difference that this years we don't have the tools to deal with that.

Oh yeah, I agree with u, the media wont leave him alone .. That I dont doubt !!

about the 10 man defense ... Milan faced problems at the first half of last season for the same reason as Milan does now .. because we don't have a Sheva-type player (thats the tools that we need (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) to help break those defenses. Ronaldo is the ticket to open them up, hopefully after the CWC, well be able to win more games.

SS is a big tool to be missed (though we have other problems as well). Ronaldo is only a short time answer. The guy can't be fit for two seconds. We are in December and he still haven't played one full game and it's too late for Seria A anyway.

well, it's late for the Scudetto ... but it ain't late to regain some ground for a better league position. In all honesty, and u probably know this already, I never thought Milan were targeting the Scudetto this season .. So I'm not too down hearted about it (though it does hurt to see inter at the top)!

And ur right about Ronaldo, he hasn't gotten back to 100% and we are approaching the second half of the season. Who knows, it just might be a good omen, as he will be ready for that second half of the season and that will be positive for the team's CL push and climbing the Serie A standings again.

There's a very nice interview with Pato in today's Gazzetta. (link)

Highlights:

"I'm happy and look forward to the possibility of showing what I can do for Milan. Italy? It's a country I adore and Milan is a great club."

"I get along well with everyone, the others take me out to eat and I happily let them drag me along. The other Brazilians are all married. Me? In Milan there are marvelous women, very beautiful, but I don't yet have a fiancee."

"Away from the pitch, they call me Pato - especially the other Brazilians - but on the pitch, I've become 'Ale', in Italy they prefer to use first names."

"I'm adapting and learning Italian even if I get hungry (joke). I don't know how to cook, but I do know how to order takeaway over the phone, like lasagne. I live with a friend who does the cooking."

"My family stayed with me for the first month, but afterward returned to Brazil. I have a great family that always supports me and helps me a lot with the changes in my life."
