QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 2 2008, 10:51 PM) One game? I've seen him a few times, and I still fail to see why the big clubs want him. Maybe I've managed to catch all of his bad games? But I doubt it. Bayern is a big club ((IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) ) so he can't be that bad... maybe he's not good enough for even bigger ones but you make it sound (or that's how I "received" it) like he's a nobody.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 3 2008, 03:35 AM) I didn't mean that he's not already playing for a big club, but that doesn't mean he's any good. Do you see the top clubs of the World looking at Wes Brown? I just don't rate him very highly, that's all. To be honest, I have not seen much of him since the last World Cup... but he was one of the best players of the tournament back then, so I guess he can't be that bad now. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) edit: Brown sucks.

Concerning Lahm. He was really, really bad against Zenit. He's not having a great season but that was the worst performance I've seen by him this year. In general I think of him as a classy modern wing back.
Besides that, Bayern problem is obvious. They lack quality in the CM area. Van Bommel is at his best when he brings down other players or when he kicks them, Schweinsteiger doesn't have the needed class (doesn't live up to any expectations...) and Zé is 33 and the only who's capable of creating a good pass here and there. Other than that I don't think Hitzfeld is the man he was 5, or 6 years ago. He always uses the same tactics no matter which team Bayern plays or which players are available. Next year they'll have Borowski to fill the gap in CM, but he isn't enough IMO. Another player is needed here. Ribery would also be more efficient if he had a playmaker at bhis side. The most exciting part about Bayern next season will without a doubt be their new coach...Klinsi. It'll either be huge success or a miserable failure IMO.

I just cannot say anything bad about Roque Junior. I saw him still run with one leg in that final. He could just have sat in a corner till the whistle blew.
I'm not saying he was a footballing great, but he had certain redeeming qualities.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 3 2008, 07:49 PM) Everyone is capable of playing good football, everyone is capable of playing bad football. But it's the same both ways, the English press label other clubs boring when they play defensively, then people on here complain and defend the Italian teams. Yet when an English team plays defensively, people on here are quick to jump on their backs and label them anti-football. You miss the point. Italian teams have always been know to play 'boring counter attack' football, yet as soon as British teams do it it's heroic (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) You've got to admit Manu and rangers were the worst sides in their respective games, yet both are hailed as heroes. I only saw fleeting glances of the Fio game, but each time I watched Fio were attacking while Rangers always seemed to have 10 behind the ball. Now I can't recall seeing milan, Roma, Fio or even the merda playing as defensively as that - yet they are the ones labelled defensive and boring. Total hypocrisy (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
