QUOTE (dst @ Dec 23 2007, 08:16 PM)
By far the best team in Europe for beating a mediocre Barcelona!?? I think you're exaggerating... you might think they're better but by far better!?? Anyway... in my view, both Inter and United are better. I think Madrid won't do well in Europe.
*

For beating a mediocre Barcelona? I'm saying they're, along with Inter, the best team in Europe for 2 months. And a match in Camp Nou is always a match vs. 14... (Barcelona didn't lose for the League at home for 34 consecutive matches - about 2 years).

But it has nothing to do with this match. This was just the confirmation.

I haven't seen more than a couple of Madrid games in La Liga but I watched all 6 of their CL group stage games and judging from that I'd say they are not even among the 5 best teams in Europe! The reason why I'm placing them right next to Inter and United is because they're 7 points clear off Barcelona in the title race, even if it's been a far-from-impressive Barcelona...

Real deserve credit for breaking such record.

I don't particularly like either Real or Barca. That said, Real played Barca off the pitch today and fully deserved their victory.

Please God, let us meet Madrid in the 1/4.

Oh, and please God, don't let us buy Ronaldinho.

Great move and and even grater finish from Baptista! Even crappy players have some good moments...

Is there some referee illness plaguing the football world!?? What on earth is going on with these guys, are they really so bad or are they trying to attract attention

For me there's not a choice to be made; a loathsome team will win and a loathsome team will lose whatever the outcome of this game is... well unless it's a draw... in that case... both sets of fans are in for a loathsome Sunday...

Just saw the repeat, fantastic to see Real win, and Ronaldinho's performance shows why Middlesbrough are the only team to offer for him for him so far, pathetic, he's a waste of time.

Just saw the highlights. Madrid made barca look very ordinary at the camp nou.

Brilliant goal from baptista. Could have been handy for milan.

What a match for Pepe. What a superb performance.
If he's not the best CB nowadays in La Liga... I dunno.
QUOTE
Pepe – 9: Absolutely superb from start to finish. Got the better of every Barcelona player, and even bailed Casillas out a couple of times. His best display in a Real Madrid shirt yet. Arguably his best display ever!

GOAL.com

Marca and all the other papers consider him the best in Camp Nou. He is really a top-defender, with 24 yo.

Portugal is going to have a great combo with Carvalho-Pepe for the Euro/WC. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
