Quique Sanchez Flores was fired. Now Valencia is searching for a manager.

QUOTE
Ruiz: We Want A Prestigious, Long-Term Manager

Valencia president Miguel Angel Ruiz has reassured the Che fanbase that Quique Sanchez Flores' replacement will be a long-term appointment and not a stop-gap...

(IMG:http://www.marca.com/futbol/estadios_1adiv0607/escudos/valencia.gif)

The club president told Marca, "We're calm and won't be rushing this.

"We're looking for a high-profile coach with prestige, who is not an emergency solution or a passenger, but someone who is durable and with longevity.

"We want a coach with important prestige and many titles to his name."

Quique Sanchez Flores was sacked in the early hours of Monday morning after two defeats in less than a week, Los Che losing out away to Rosenborg and Sevilla.

The president admitted that time was a factor as the club is linked with the likes of Lippi, Mourinho and others, but not to an extent that he would be hasty.

"We don't want to task risks as this is a week of three matches, but the important thing is not to rush," he said.

Ruiz went on to confirm that back-room clashes were a key factor in the decision to sack Quique.

"It's true that the team's looking good, although it could be better," he began.

"We're still fighting for all the titles, and it's still early days, so it might appear that the condition were not right to make this decision.

"But in fact there is an open wound and a climate of anger that means that various levels of the institution are not communicating.

"That, coupled with recent results and the image that the team has given of itself, led to our decision.

"The time factor has also been important in making the decision. There's plenty more to go and a coach who comes in will have all that time to work with, although the response of the players is also key.

"The 4am announcement? It was best to address the situation as soon as possible."

Valencia welcome Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Probably their new coach will be announced after Madrid match or even after next weekend.

Any bets?
Del Bosque? Lippi? Mourinho?

Hmm... Mourinho at Valencia would be great! Capello too but I don't think he's looking for any other job other than the one for the Italian NT...

I thought this was settled long ago.

Ramos to Spurs. Flores to Sevilla. And Mourinho to Valencia.

Valencia would suit Mourinho. It's a side I have nothing against, and nothing for either. And anything to light a fire under Madrid and Barca. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Schuster as it is can't handle the media. Imagine if Mourinho calls him a 'voyeur' or real madrid an 'omelette of bad eggs'! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

In a pool, 50% of the Valencia fans want Mourinho for the job. ( Valencia forum - http://www.foroche.com/index2.htm )

QUOTE
- MOURINHO: 50,75%  - LIPPI: 9,84%
- DEL BOSQUE: 07,57%  - IRURETA: 04,54%
- DESCHAMPS: 03,78%  - VAN BASTEN: 03,03%

I just don't know if Mourinho wants the La Liga job now or later (first the Serie A job).

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This is a surprise. And this worries me a bit too.

Agent Confirms Koeman Is New Valencia Manager

The Ronald Koeman affair has progresses rapidly since the morning. After several Spanish media revealed the PSV Eindhoven boss was in talks with Valencia, something the Primera Division club went on to confirm a little later, now Koeman’s agent has revealed it’s a done deal.

“For the first time in 28 years I advised Ronald not to say anything on the matter. I can tell you, however, that he has signed a contract with Valencia for two and a half years. I’ll be in a position to say more tomorrow.” Ger Lagendijk told the Dutch media.

Both the Eredivisie champions and Koeman himself declined to comment the manager’s move to Spain. But PSV have already announced they’ll hold a press conference at 8 pm (local time) tonight. Club spokesman Pedro Salazar Hewitt said: “I cannot confirm anything else.”

Now where is Jose going??

This is getting to be the story of Ranieri's life.

Build up a broken team, and have somebody take his place.

I don't think Juve would sack Claudio that easily. 3 coaches in 3 years, that just looks bad, especially when you consider that both Deschamps and Ranieri had/have good results,..
