QUOTE
Milan defender Kakha Kaladze has stated that he will honour his contract with the San Siro outfit.

The Georgian was paired with a summer move after the Champions League win in Athens, when he stated that he was eager to be a first-team regular.

“I have spoken with the club and every misunderstanding has been clarified,” said Kaladze to Milan Channel this afternoon.

“I am very glad and I want to say to all our supporters and those who love me and love Milan that I will stay here until 2011,” added the Rossonero.

“I have a contract and I respect all the rules set by this club. As to the statements following the Final, I certainly didn’t mean that I wanted to leave. I met with Adriano Galliani, Leonardo and Ariedo Braida and we clarified the issue: I will stay for four more years,” explained the 29-year-old.

The Georgian was on the verge of a Chelsea move two years ago, but no fee could be agreed and he signed a new Rossoneri contract instead.

“I have always had an excellent relationship with this outfit, the Coach and the team. Milan have given me many trophies, two Champions League titles, the Scudetto, the Super Cup and now hopefully the Intercontinental Cup.

“We have all contributed in the last five years, we are like a family, this is Milan’s secret. As to myself, I will do all I can to be ready when needed. I had many problems this year, but I played all the decisive matches.

“In any case I never said anything against the club. I had some issues to clarify, now everything is fine,”
concluded Kaladze.

This is doesn't make me sad, nor does it make me ecstatic. But it is no mystery that Kaladze forms a solid partnership with Nesta.

Spot on. He adds decent depth, too. Not many teams have players of his quality on the bench.

I still think we should have replaced him with world class CB but now we have 4 CB who are staying for sure: Nesta, Paolo, Kala, Bonera Plus we have Simic too so I guess no CB coming after all ...

He has experience but I wouldn't use him as a primary player. I wish Milan would dump the players on the bench and freshen up the defense a little but with some new faces.

There is a bright side to all this guys, Paolo is gonna officially play his last season. Milan, after winning the CL, wont take risks. Especially, having so many tournaments and the league to play next year, will need to have a fresh bench.

What we have right now, got us to the CL final (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

So anything added, is definetely a plus, but if we stay as we are, Nesta and Maldini and the best partnership in the world !! U have got to be either retarded or nieve to see otherwise!

The next line would naturally be Bonera and Kakha. Which is, looking at all the top team's bench center backs, a leap in quality (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Maybe, Milan could cut Simic off and bring in someone to compete with Bonera and Kakha for their spot on the bench (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) ...

p.s. Nesta and Maldini are the best pairing in the world today ! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

I'd love to agree. But I think that one has to go to John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho.

When they signed Carvalho for near £20m I thought they were insane, turned out to be a real bargain.

No, Carvalho and Terry are good, I mean they are both amazing defenders. But my hat goes off for Nesta and Maldini. For several reason, that are shown on the pitch.

Maldini brings experience and stability in the back line and Nesta, well, he is the #1 CB in the world, too bad his injury didn't let him participate in the WC and showcase his qualities (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

the problem with that is 50% of the time one or the other is injured. and i'm not excited to see either bonera or kaladze play in big games (especially bonera, he's been schooled on numerous occasions). anyways with bully gone and hopefully simic too like you said we should get sumone else to compete for the 3rd spot. we are a big enough club to have alex on the bench, anyone who comes to milan knows he must fight for a spot in starting 11.

Yes, I agree. An Alex type of defender is needed. But, would that defender accept the fate of playing second fiddle and oof the bench ?!

Cuz, though injury prone, Milan will never bench Paolo (unless he chooses) and/or Nesta. But in case of something happening. Bonera needs to get some matchs under his belt (a good chance for him) and Kakha is good enough cover in the highest of levels (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Maybe, the club will wait for Paolo to retiere till they bring someone of quality. To fill in the void of Paolo ? Maybe Bonera proves himself worthy and takes Paolo's spot once he retieres, then the club gets someone to keep Kakha company on the bench. All is possible, but one thing is certain; Nesta & Maldini will be Milan's defense, no matter how many pages u fill this thread (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
